"REVAMP OF KASTURI TV" NEW SHOWS, NEW LOOK AND NEW POSITIONING

asturi TV, one of the top five general entertainment channels (GEC) of Karnataka is all set for a total revamp. In 2014, Kasturi TV roped in ‘Whitehorse Network’, an organization floated by a renowned media veteran Mr. P.Kailasam to take over the channel. As a part of its re-launch strategy, the channel will feature a refreshed line up of programmes.

Addressing the media, Mr. P.Kailasam, CEO of Kasturi TV said, ‘Kasturi channel is poised to get back its glory. We are completely revamping the channel and our motto is to offer differentiated yet mass-based content to the viewers’ he said.

‘Based on the extensive research done in order to understand the regional television viewers tastes in Karnataka, the new content strategy involves strengthening the prime-time viewing slot with a mix of fiction and non-fiction programmes’ he explained.

‘Of the entire new programming list, some fiction and non-fiction programmes have already been launched. Of the non-fiction programmes ‘Maathandre Maathu’, starring Murali is a talk show that brings two polarized sections of the society on to one platform to share their views on social and political issues. This programme is aired every Saturday and Sunday at 8.30 pm’ he told.

‘Another non-fiction but week day programme is ‘Padakkondu Saval’ which is going to be hosted by the anchor Anushree. The show is going to air at 8 pm, and callers can participate in the on-going game to win prizes’ he said.

‘Apart from these shows, ‘Sakhath Atthe Super Sose’ hosted by Sushma K. Rao is aired between 7 pm to 8 pm on Monday to Saturday. It is first-of-its-kind TV show, in which a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law duo participates together as a team and is pitted against other mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duos.

Monday to Friday at 9 pm ‘Aaradirali Belaku’ hosted by Mrs. Malavika Avinash is a talk show which discusses the social issues faced by common man today.

Every Sunday from 7.30 to 8.30 pm, ‘Nan Lifenal Ondu dina’ is a celebrity talk show where the audience can take a sneak peek in to the real life of Silver screen actors, Politicians, Sportsmen etc.

Every Sunday from 9.30 pm, another weekend programme called ‘Crime Alert’ which is an informative show for viewers in which each episode ends with an optimal solution for preventing crimes is going to be telecasted.

Apart from non-fiction shows, ‘Guggunanmaklu’ is a weekday comedy fiction show which is going to be aired at 10 pm.

‘All these refreshed programming lineup promises its audience complete entertainment for the entire family. Team Whitehorse is confident that the channel will be able to captivate its viewers in such a way so as to soon make Kasturi TV top the list of Kannada general entertainment channels’ he concluded.

Actresses Malavika Avinash, Sushma K. Rao, Talk Show host Murali, directors Pawan, Vishwa, Shivakumar, Chief Content strategist of Kasturi TV and many others were present in the press meet.
