OGGARANE DABBI RECIPES ON MOBILE APP, COMPLETES 850 EPISODES
Muralidhar Prasad of Snowtint Technologies who has developed the mobile application said users can browse 100 recipes after downloading the app once. He said the app will take just 300 MB space of your mobile phone as each recipe will give details about the ingredients and the steps involved in cooking it.
The mobile app was launched on the sets of Oggarane Dabbi by hotelier Sadananda Maiya and actress Priyanka Rao. A cake brought by Sadanand Maiya himself from Maiya’s Restaurant was cut to celebrate the completion of four years of the show. The 850th episode will be telecast on Zee Kannada channel on July 4 at 1 pm.
Sadananda Maiya of Maiya Group of Hotels said for a television cookery show it is the first time a mobile app has been designed. Actress Priyanka Rao whose latest multilingual film Naani released on Friday said she would love to take part in Oggarane Dabbi show and prepare vegetarian food. She said her grandmother is a fan of programme host Murali.
Later, Murali told journalists that the mobile app took six months to develop and it is in an e-book format. He said plans are afoot to introduce commentary as well in the future. He said 1.2 lakh copies of the book Oggarane Dabbi had been sold which has been published by Naveen who was also present. The programme has to date telecast more than 2,300 recipes in vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food categories.
Murali said about 2,500 people have come on the show to cook. Audiences from US, Sharjah, New Delhi and Hyderabad besides other places had participated in the show, he said. He said another 2,300 people are in the queue to show their culinary skills on the show.
Murali said he has been invited to attend the Akka Sammelana that is being held in Atlanta, US from September 2 to 4. He said he will interact with chefs in US during the meet.
