ZEE TO TELECAST MAHADEVI FROM SEPT 18
Raghavendra Hunsur, programming head of the channel said Mahadevi is a mythological, devotional and yet a work of fiction that is set in the current time period. Siju Prabhakaran, business head of Zee Kannada said the channel is geared up for the festive season with Zee Jathre and Ganesha Utsava coming up. He said the annual Zee Kutumba awards functions will come up in October.
Ramesh Indira who had directed Devi, a popular socio-mythological serial, is directing the serial. Ramesh Indira said the serial is about Sundari whose family works in various capacities in a temple. Sundari hates the Goddess and doesn’t have faith in the Goddess even though she works in the temple. She is engaged in decorating the temple and dressing up the Goddess.
Ramesh Indira said the story is about the Goddess invokes devotion in the girl and how the Goddess destroys the evil forces through the girl. He said the serial evokes a sense of devotion among the people without falling prey to superstitions or blind faith. He said the serial is a devotion trip with Amma’s miracles being part of the narrative.
Frames team is producing Mahadevi. The same team had made Chi Sow Savithri and is now producing Srirashtu Shubhamastu and Punar Vivaha. Ramesh is the cameraman. Vinay Sulegay is the editor. B Gopi has scored the background music. A Ananthkrishna Sharma has scored the music for the title track.
Archana Jois is debuting in the role of Sundari. Archana Jois said her character has a connect as she hails from a conservative family.
Ananthvelu, Pushpa Belawadi, Naresh Mayya, Radha, Ramaprasad and Vishal Hegde among others are in the cast. Manasa Joshi is playing the role of Goddess.
