ETV KANNADA IS NOW COLORS KANNADA
Addressing a press meet, Parameshwar Gundkal, business head of the channel said although the deal was over about three years ago it has been only since the last one month that the channel had been beaming promos to announce the change of name. He said the channel had begun a conversation with its audiences to engage viewership and interest.
He said the channel had already repositioned itself with the telecast of Bigg Boss two years back. Gundkal said the exercise to build the Colors brand will continue for at least a year with the slogan that ‘ETV Kannada is now Colors Kannada’.
Parameshwar Gundkal said the channel will now telecast the launch function Color Color on Sunday, April 26 at 6 pm preceeded by the telecast of the recent blockbuster hit Ugramm that the channel has acquired.
As part of the name change, Colors Kannada will now telecast special one hour episodes of the serials Kulavadhu, Putta Gowri Maduve, Lakshmi Baaramma, Agni Sakshi and Akka on April 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 respectively.
On April 25, at 8 pm two reality shows of the channel Maja Talkies and Dancing Star will share the same platform and the programme will be called Dancing Talkies.
The special programme Color Color will have stars like Puneeth, Darshan, Malashri, Ravichandran, Ganesh, Priyanka Upendra, Kriti Kharbanda, Shruthi Hariharan and Vijay Raghavendra dancing on the stage.
Popular television actors who are known by the characters they play such as Chandan, Gombe, Lacchi, Sannidhi, Yashode, Ashwini, Paavani, Vachana, Dhanya, Gaurav, Akash, Deepa, Shravya, Lasya, Arundhati, Kumuda, Ramya, Vikki and Adi among others will also perform on stage.
Aakul Balaji’s comedy act, T N Seetharam-Malavika’s courtroom drama and skit put up by comperes will also be an added attraction. Actors who have been associated with the channel ever since its launch will be present.
