TV REALITY SHOW ‘BOX CRICKET LEAGUE SANDALWOOD’ SOON

elevision reality show Box Cricket League Sandalwood will kick off in October. The show is being put together by producer Kamar of Kamar Film Factory and is co-owned by Sunny Arora.

Kamar told reporters that Box Cricket League will be akin to indoor cricket with different set of rules which will also be entertaining. He said 150 film and television actors and actresses will participate in the league.

The show will have eight teams composed of 15 members each and 27 matches will be played among them. He said a studio set will be put up for the programme and the recorded programme will be aired on television. He said other details of the show are still being worked out.

Kamar said cricket will be played under lights and in an air-conditioned environment. Out of the playing 11 members in each team, three of them will be women. He said a soft sponge ball made in China will be used for the games. Two women cricketers of a team will have to bowl an over each and also bat for two overs in the 10-overs game. The boundary length and width of the field will be almost the same as that of a normal cricket field.

Aindrita Ray said it is a catchy concept and added that she will not be afraid to play because it is a soft ball. Harshika Poonacha said women will now play after cheering others all these days. Karunya Ram said she used to play cricket in her school days and now this game will entertain people. Bhavana said when girls play television ratings will jump with more people watching television. Rakesh Adiga said it is an opportunity to play gully cricket and it was like revisiting his childhood. Adi Lokesh also spoke.
