He said tickets should be priced reasonably and taken to all nooks and corners of the state so that it can be afforded by people and at the same time return some share of the profit to the producer.

Jnanpith awardee Dr Chandrashekara Kambara said poems are discussed but films are not adding that such yatres will help bridge the gap as more number of audiences can watch movies at affordable ticket rates closer to their homes. He said he is ready to help for the cause of Kannada.

Kumar Govind, Sunder Raj and Shamita Malnad were present. Marana Dandane stars Sriki, Sunder Raj, Sadashiva Brahmavar, Rajani and Sheela among others. Hamsalekha has scored the music and Suresh Urs is the editor. Nagaraj Advani is the cinematographer.

riter-director Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa’s film Marana Dandane was premiered on Saturday evening in Bengaluru.

He announced that the government will soon begin a television channel that will cover assembly sessions and also promote art films.

He said the government is in talks with the agencies to launch the channel as soon as possible.

Speaking on the occasion, Baraguru Ramachandrappa said Marana Dandane was based on his own story that was published in Sudha weekly magazine. He said Sriki who has played the lead had taken just Re 1 as remuneration to act in his movie. Ramachandrappa said the film Marana Dandane is a bridge film as it is neither commercial nor art in its content. He said the film is likely to be released later this year in July.
