HOME STAY MOVIE REVIEW
H
ome Stay is inspired from the real incident that shook the coastal city of Mangaluru. Director Santosh Kodenkeri has begun with the incident and given it his own.

The film is about a reporter who takes up accommodation at a home stay to give her fiancé a surprise. She reads a horror book before she goes off to sleep and experiences a lot of eerie things. Her boyfriend is out to kill her and so is the watchman of the home stay. Shruthi who plays the owner’s sister is also to kill her.

The entire film revolves around the heroine who has to ward off all the threats to her life. How real is the feeling of getting killed? Is she being really targeted? Watch it to know about it.

Sayali Bhagat has acted well in her first Kannada film but she has to thank the dubbing artiste for contributing to her performance. Ravi Kale is exceptional and Shruthi is superb in a different avatar from her usual self.

Ashley’s background score is one of the major highlights of the movie that takes the movie to a higher level. The songs are also okay. A romantic song has been composed well and also picturised well. Cinematographers Nanda Kishore and Haseeb have come up with good angles although it could have been a bit sharper in some places. But the camera work supports the story and is engaging.

The film spooks the audiences and it is worth a watch.
