new Kannada film ‘Vega’ was launched in Bengaluru this week by senior director S K Bhagawan and politicians Suresh Kumar and Gopalaiah. The film is being produced by Kaveri Venkatesh and directed by Chalapathi B Kolar. The film will be shot over a 60-day schedule in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Goa from the first week of April.

Director Chalapathi Kolar told reporters that the film has no heroes but has six important characters. He said some real incidents have been taken and are adapted to the big screen. The film is about how youths end up taking the wrong route to make a fast buck and enjoy their lives. The youths end up doing crimes, get into prostitution and drugs and what happens to these youths is what the film is all about, the director said. He said ultimately the message is that God is the final decision authority in man’s life.

Producer Kaveri Venkatesh said the film is being made on a budget of Rs 1 crore. Mahendra will be scoring the music in the movie which will have five songs.

Ashik, a guy from Mangaluru plays a psychic role in the movie. Kiran Tavarekere plays a honest cop while Muni plays a corrupt and a villainous cop. Mamatha Rawuth plays a sob queen in the movie while Nidhi and Chaitra Yadav are the other girls in the movie.
