irector Girish Kamplapur has forayed into production with his maiden venture ‘Verma’ mounting the sets in Bengaluru on Thursday. Kamplapur is directing the film under his banner Kamplapur Frames based on Ravi Thammanna’s story. Aryavardhan is the cameraman. Different Danny is the stunt composer. The film stars Naveen Hassan, Varshita, Rishant Tiwari and Jaijagadish.

Director Kamplapur said the film has a storyline where the girl gets kidnapped from a choultry on her day of engagement and thus a journey begins. He said Verma played by Naveen Hassan kidnaps the heroine and Rishant is the guy who is set to marry the girl. Varshita plays a singer in the film.

Kamplapur said the story revolves around three people – girl, kidnapper and the fiancé. How the kidnapped girl is traced is interesting part of the film, he said. The film has three songs and each one will be composed by a different person. Chandan Shetty has composed a song while Archana Udupa has composed another one.

The film will be shot in Bengaluru, Dandeli and Gokak over a 45-day schedule.

Rishant Tiwari said he plays a model in the film and it is about how he turns villainish being a music company owner. He said his Hindi film Love Ke Funday is releasing next month.

Jaijagadish plays the heroine’s father. M N Suresh said he plays a suspense character. Yathiraj is playing a special role.

Naveen Hassan said his role has both positive and negative shades. Varshita said she was lucky to be acting as Jaijagadish’s daughter.  She said she is acting in another film titled Bathaas.

Baby Amogha of Drama Juniors is playing a role in the film.
