'VANDE MATARAM BAA RATHA’ CAMPAIGN FROM AUG 1

aking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message that Independence Day celebrations should not be confined to just one day but it should be a 15-day celebration, Media N Media has embarked on a Vande Mataram ‘Baa Ratha’ campaign to instill patriotism among the people of Karnataka.

L S N Swamy, director of the campaign told reporters that the campaign has been designed in association with Saral Jeevan infotainment television channel. A variety of programmes will be part of the 15-day campaign. 

He said Indian Red Cross, Sunny Television, Spectra Television and others were also joining the campaign which is meant to showcase history of our past to the next generation. 

Swamy said a special chariot has been designed to tour 30 districts of Karnataka and cover 4,900 kms. Cultural programmes have been organized in every district that will allow locals to display their patriotism. The campaign will kick off from Vidhurashwatha on August 1 and will end on August 15 at Yelahanka. The Indian tricolor will be hoisted at 11.59 pm on August 14 at Freedom Park. The Ratha will reach Vijayanagara and Malleswaram on August 14 prior to the flag hoisting. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and freedom fighter Ho Srinivasaiah are expected to participate in the flag hoisting programme.  

Swamy said a signature campaign will be taken up in support of Khalasa Bhanduri project and against the recent court order. Blood donation camps and encouragement to youths to join Indian Army will be part of the campaign.

Raghunath Reddy of Saral Jeevan, M T Subash, Vani Bharath, Sudarshan, singer Ramesh Chandra and others were present at the press meet.
