He said Yaana Raj and Nagaraj came from his home constituency Sangapura which is a well maintained village and wished the team of Vaishnavi good luck.

Hamsalekha urged Ambarish to make a film like Kabali. Referring to the film Vaishnavi, Hamsalekha said Vridhashrama and Rudrashrama had slowly become part of Indian society and city life. He said the Indian government should pass a law that will punish children who send their parents to old age homes. Children who looked after their parents should be given two years extension in their service.

Welcoming the gathering, Producer Nagaraj said he wanted to act in films but couldn’t although he had performed in plays and also because he was in government service. He said his daughter wanted to direct but he wanted her to act. He said he wanted to make a film with a message.

She said she had been working on scripts and wanted to work as an assistant director before directing her first film. But, she met director G Murthy through Ramachandra and Murthy had a story in mind. She said director pursued her to do the lead role. Yaana praised the director for finishing the film in 18 days and shooting a few portions in the US. She said the film is about gender inequality and social progress. She said she even tonsured her head for her role. The film is about caste inequality and about serving needy and old people in old age homes.

Amarnath Gowda of Akka was also present.

Vaishnavi is art director G Murthy’s 6th film. He has worked as art director in 135 films and his first film Kurunaadu won him two state awards. G Murthy thanked Ramachandra for being the backbone of the film.
