‘SMILE PLEASE’ RELEASING ON FEB 10
Producer Manju told reporters that the film is different in many ways for people to watch. Gurunandan is in total contrast to his 1st Rank Raju appearance while Kavya Shetty’s height and personality came as a blessing to be cast for this movie in the female lead. Srinivasa Prabhu as the strict father of the heroine shines. He said Kannada films are generating good business with techies also watching them and so he said he would not compete with another Kannada film. He said he wanted all Kannada films to do well.
Director Raghu Samarth said his 15-year struggle and dream to become a director has become a reality with this film. He said Arun Sagar and T N Seetharam helped him in his initial days. Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar helped him in penning dialogues for Kotiyadhipati while Prakash helped him by giving him an opening as a dialogue writer for Siddhartha. He said Smile Please is a family entertainer and thanked producer Manju for the support.
Ravi Bhat said the film will make people laugh and lauded Gurunandan’s devotion to become an actor and get into films from television. Srinivasa Prabhu said he plays a strict father who imposes his views on his children. He said the film has a message and added that Smile Please is a complete film for all audiences. Rangayana Raghu said the kissing sequence in the song was apt if one sees the film.
Gurunandan thanked the media for their support during 1st Rank Raju and now said he expected the same kind of response for Smile Please. He said he is like a cow at heart and bull in physical form. Kavya Shetty said it was a good journey during the making of the film. She said her role as Manasa was interesting and good from start to finish and added that people will laugh all their way.
‘SMILE PLEASE’ AUDIO RELEASED
Speaking on the occasion, Yash said a smile is very important in everyone’s lives. He can it can convince even a stranger and make anyone forget all the traumas and pains. He said the title is positive and appreciated producer Manju for helping his friends in difficulty. He said Rangayana Raghu shoulders a lot of responsibility and added that he became a fan of the actor after seeing Duniya. Anoop as a music director has a lot of potential, he said adding that he missed out on doing music for Ramachari.
Director Raghu Samarth said he was turning a director with the film and added that it was like a family outing during the shoot. He said technicians had worked hard in the film.
Srinivasa Prabhu said let New Year bring smiles on everyone’s lips. He said the director had innovatively scripted all the characters and all scenes were funny.
Rangayana Raghu said there is a need to bring back smiles on everyone’s faces as people live in tension. In a lighter vein he said Manju had choreographed the song that features a lip-lock between the lead actors.
Gurunandan said the film which has a good screenplay will release in February. Kavya Shetty said the title was apt to the film’s story and the movie will definitely make people smile. Neha Patil said its time for all of them to smile especially when one gets angry.
Music composer Anoop Seelin said he got an opening commercially in Yash’s film Googly and Pavan Wadeyar’s film. He said every dialogue in the movie brings a smile. He said Samanvitha Sharma has sung in a Kannada movie for the first time.
Producer K Manju said it is difficult to find good stories for movies. He said technicians should be nurtured and not allowed to go outside. He urged the audio companies to help in allowing regular producers to use bit songs in their movies and not object to it while remembering late Mohan Chhabria of Anand Audio for helping him in allowing to do it in his (Manju’s) films.
He said Rangayana Raghu helps newcomers and is the most wanted actor. He is like a pickle in a film, Manju said. Referring to the kissing scene in the song he said he urged the heroine to do it as it was nothing compared to Hindi cinema. He said parents should give their children more time to shape up their careers and not rush them into marriage.
Manju said he plans to release the film on Feb.24 on the occasion of Mahashivaratri.
‘SMILE PLEASE’ ROLLS
Raghu Samarth told reporters that he considers himself as T N Seetharam’s protégé and had acted in the serial Mukta. The movie Smile Please which is his directorial debut on big screen is about the hero who has completed his degree and is jobless. He is at home all the time making people laugh despite he himself being not so happy about himself.
The film talks about how parents should handle children and keep them under control.
He said the film will be shot in Bengaluru, Sakleshpura and Ladakh for a song.
Gurunandan said Smile Please is his first break after 1st Rank Raju. Smile Please is a new team with new ideas. He said his role is that of a guy who wants to do good things and whether he achieves it is what the story is all about.
Kavya Shetty said she has two shades to her role in the film while Neha Patil said she plays an innocent girl in the movie.
Jagadish Wali is the cameraman and Anoop Seelin will be scoring the music. Niharika is designing the costumes.
Producer K Manju said he agreed to produce the film after he felt that the story had stuff in it. He said he was confident that the story will be lapped up by other language film-makers as well. Manju said he plans to release the movie for Varamahalakshmi Vrata festival in August.
