AWARDS FOR SHORT-FILMS, MUSIC ALBUMS IN MEMORY OF SHANKAR NAG
A
group of techies who made Kannada film Kaurya under the Shankar Nag Team banner have now formed Shankar Nag Memorial Trust to give away awards in memory of the late actor.

Anil Kumar, president of the Trust told journalists that the trust will give away awards for best short films and music albums. He said the trust invites entries for short films in two categories -  15-20 minutes and 3-5 minutes and music albums. He said entries can be sent in five languages of Kannada, Kodava, Tulu, Konkani and Lambani. The last date for sending the entries is October 1. Awards will be given away on November 9, which is Shankar Nag’s birth anniversary.

Directors Sumana Kiththur, Naresh Kumar, Hemanth Rao, Rishab Shetty and Venkat Bharadwaj will be among the panelists to select the best entries. 

A sample trophy was released on the occasion by KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu. He said Shankar Nag is always remembered for setting up a dubbing and recording theatre in Bengaluru. He said Shankar Nag and V Ravichandran were dream merchants and added that both of them had ensured that technicians in Karnataka became busy. 

Meanwhile, Shankar Nag Team’s upcoming film ‘Kaurya’ is in its final stages of post-production and is getting ready for a release.
