annada film ‘Rasapuri’ will release in 75 theatres all over Karnataka on August 26 and is distributed by Vijay. The film is produced by Srinivas Shetty based on his own story and directed by Manjunath Daivagna. The film stars Manish, Poornima, Sridhar (Junior Upendra) and Chitral among others.  

Director Manjunath Daivagna told reporters that the Rasapuri signifies glamour but he said the film has elements of horror, love and sentiment. He said the film has been shot in Bengaluru, Kolar and Mangaluru.

Producer Srinivas Shetty said the film has been made at a budget of Rs 1.5 crore.

Sridhar said the title means a variety of mango fruit which is the king of fruits. He said he plays an anti-hero role who equates women to fruit. Ramya said she appears in a special romantic song. Alisha said she was earlier doing item songs but in this film she said she gets to play a small role as well.

he audio of the Kannada film Rasapuri was released at a function in Bengaluru. Debutant Jeetendra has scored the music. The film is produced by R Srinivas Shetty who has also penned the story. The film stars Manish, Chitral, Sridhar, Nakul and Ramya. The film is directed by A Manju Daivagnya.

Director Manju said the film was started with the intent of making it a horror film but somewhere along the way he said the team felt there was so much of ghosts and horror and that gave way to love and sentiment. He said there were no songs in the film but with love and sentiment songs and new scenes were added.

He said the film has no glamour unlike what the title suggests. He said desire is the main cause for misery and so do the ghosts appear.

Producer Shetty said director Manju had really worked hard and added that spending money alone will not help in ensuring that a good film can be made. The story writer of the film said the film is based on a newspaper report and just mentioned that ‘souls do not die’.

Sridhar who is a Upendra lookalike said he plays Rasapuri Raja in the film who enjoys and accepts fruits and women. He said he had acted in his own style in the film.

Manish said he had two shades to his role. He said his role changes with the talk of experience. Singer Supriya Lohit sang a few lines of her song that she has sung for the movie. She said she has sung two songs for the movie.

Chitral who has acted in television serials and is now playing the female lead said her role is that of this generation girl who breaks up with her boyfriends. She said her character will connect with the youngsters and especially guys.

Sanchari Vijay, Chandrashekar Guruji, Sa Ra Govindu, Murthy, actress Savitha among others were also present. Ramya who has appeared in a song was also present.

The film’s songs and the trailer were earlier shown to journalists.

The film ‘Rasapoori’ will be like ‘Paani Poori’ with all masala elements. There is fun, horror, music, sentiments, action says director. Halli Katti MB is cameraman and Jitendra is music composer.

The film ‘Rasapoori’ has the age old theme. Without fulfilling wishes when a person dies how he fulfill it is the crux of the film.

Nakul close family member of noted personality SA Chinne Gowda is playing hero and he is in his fourth film as hero with 14 films to his credit in sundry roles. He has recently in ‘101 Not Out’. He plays dual character in this film ‘Rasapoori’.

Monish is playing friend with responsibilities, Poornima is girl next door role. She has acted in small roles in Dilwala and Daksha.
