RAGHAVENDRA RAJKUMAR, FAMILY & DR RAJ’S SISTER CALL ON DR RAJ’S CHILDHOOD PAL

aghavendra Rajkumar and his family accompanied by his aunt and Dr Rajkumar’s younger sister Nagamma called on Tiptur Ramaswamy at the latter’s house in Tiptur on Saturday.

Tiptur Ramaswamy is Dr Rajkumar’s childhood friend and has been associated with the actor since his theatre days in Gubbi Company. Raghavendra Rajkumar, his wife Mangala and sons Vinay and Guru along with Nagamma, sister of Dr Rajkumar spent a few hours with Tiptur Ramaswamy who is reportedly not keeping too well.

Nagamma read some letters exchanged by the childhood friends and became emotional. According to Dayananda Sagar, who is considered a foster son to Ramaswamy, despite best efforts by Dr Rajkumar’s family to relocate Ramaswamy’s family to Bengaluru, Ramaswamy and his family has remained in Tiptur. Sagar says Dr Rajkumar was a regular visitor to Ramaswamy’s family every other month so much so that the actor considered Ramaswamy to be his closest pal.

Tiptur Ramaswamy was instrumental in naming Rajkumar’s sons as Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar. Ramaswamy was also responsible for naming the film ‘Jeevana Chaitra’ that was based on a novel in which Dr Rajkumar made a comeback after a break in 1992.

Tiptur Ramaswamy has two daughters who live in Bengaluru but their husbands have passed away. Ramaswamy has two grandchildren. Ramaswamy’s granddaughter is working as a lecturer in a college in Bengaluru.
