PSYCHO SHANKARA’ LAUNCHES TITLE TEASER

he title teaser of ‘Psycho Shankara’ was launched at a function in Bengaluru on Monday. The shoot for the film is under progress with about 20 percent of the shoot completed. The film is produced by Prabhakar S and Manjula P. Sridhar Kashyap has scored the music. The film is directed by Punith R Arya.  The movie stars Sharath Lohitaswa, Navarasan, Yashas Surya, Pranav, Vijay Chendur, Amrutha Ramamurthy and Rushika. N M Vishwa is the editor.

Sharath Lohitaswa said he plays a cop in the movie who is wearing an Ayyappa maale with special mannerisms. Yashas said he plays a lover boy in the film.

Navarasan said he plays the title role of Shankara in the movie. He said he took up an acting course to do justice to the roles that come to him and not to become a hero. He said he had doubts about the character when the role of Shankara came to him. But, he sports a different look for which he had to grow his hair long. He said the story of Psycho Shankara is better than Dandupalya.

Vijay Chendur said he wanted to avoid doing the film as the title had put him off. He said he didn’t want to get branded as a horror artiste. He said he gets to play a soft role in the film.

Amrutha Ramamurthy who has been acting in television serials including Kulavadhu that is on air said she was initially sceptical about accepting movie offers but after she heard the story she visualized the whole movie. She said she accepted the offer as her character is good without giving out details. She hoped that the movie will be a break for all the artistes.

Rushika, grand niece of late director G V Iyer said this is her first movie in which she plays a deglamourised village girl mouthing the Kollegal dialect. She said she had acted in television serials including the daily soap Bharathi where she was the second lead. Pranav said he plays a rugged role.

Punith Arya said he had decided not to do a heroism based film but a subject oriented film. He said the film is based on Psycho Shankara’s acts of crime and has blended them with one incident in Mysuru and another one in Kollegal.
