‘Prema Baraha’, a love story which is written, produced and directed by Arjun Sarja mounted the sets in a grand style at the Sheraton Hotel in Bengaluru on Sundaynight. The film marks the debut of Arjun Sarja’s daughter Aishwarya Arjun into Kannada cinema. Aishwarya is also the granddaughter of Rajesh and late actor Shakti Prasad.

Arjun Sarja, a proud father of Aishwarya is producing his 15th film and his second one in Kannada after Abhimanyu. He  told reporters at the launch that the film’s love story as the title suggests will take the proceedings to a certain level and expressed the confidence that it would be a landmark film in the Kannada filmdom. He said Chandan is being introduced into Tamil and Telugu cinema as well with this as the film will be shot simultaneously in all the three languages. He said Aishwarya will debut in Kannada cinema with the film. Suhasini, Lakshmi, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Kuri Pratap and Jahangir are also in the cast, he said.

H C Venu is handling the camera and Jassie Gift will be scoring the music.

Arjun said Aishwarya is lucky to be launched amidst a galaxy of film stars in Kannada cinema.

Ambarish said villains look ugly on the screen but their off-screen persona is soft. He said children of popular villains were doing well for themselves and added he himself debuted as a villain.

Saroja Devi blessed Aishwarya  and said she was lucky to have great grandparents who were actors  and a father like Arjun who is an action king in Tamil Nadu. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan said Aishwarya should be encouraged the same way as she was encouraged. Parvathamma Rajkumar wished the team and Aishwarya good luck.

Upendra said he was fortunate to have debuted as a dialogue writer for an Arjun Sarja’s film. He expressed confidence that Prema Baraha will be a landmark film as Arjun himself is a director besides being an actor.

Dwarakish said he was not attending film programmes due to his health. But, he said Arjun had bought him a suit which he is wearing for the colourful launch. He said director should be an actor to make good films. Aishwarya has it in her genes.

Srinath wished that Aishwarya get all success in filmdom.

Rajesh said he was happy to see his daughter, son-in-law and now granddaughter together and blessed his granddaughter all the best.

S V Rajendra Singh Babu recalled that he had introduced Arjun Sarja 34 years ago as an actor in Simhada Mari Sainya which ran for 100 days in Tamil and Telugu also. Jaya Bachchan had asked him then “who is this Bruce Lee?” while referring to Arjun. Jagapathi Babu said Arjun was his best friend.

Shivarajkumar said Aishwarya has it in her genes with grandfathers and father. He said the others were always there to guide her as well.

Sudha Rani said Aishwarya was born while she working with Arjun in Pratap and a song Prema Baraha was picturised on them.

Chandan said he had trained under Arjun for four months in Chennai and expressed his happiness to get a break such as this. He said he was also scared to speak in front of so many stalwarts.

Aishwarya Arjun said she will make her parents proud while expressing her fear and happiness about being launched in Kannada cinema. She said she had done her homework for her role. She said she had completed her fashion designing course from London and had expressed her wish to get into acting to her father who readily said yes. Aishwarya said Arjun is a wonderful and the best father in the world.
