reethi Kitabu, a love story will release on February 26 across Karnataka in about 40 to 50 theatres and the film is being distributed by Venkatesh of Sun World Cinemas. The film is directed by Vittal Bhat and produced by Shamanth K Rao. The film stars Nehal who has also penned the story, Duniya Rashmi, Purvi and Sujay. V Manohar has scored the music. 

Director Vittal Bhat said Preethi Kitabu is a matured love story which marks the debut of Nehal as an actor who hails from Sagar. He said the team had the privilege of shooting for 12 minutes in Jog Falls and in special locales of Sagar which was made possible because of Nehal’s influence. 

He said the film is about the heroine doing a research on temples when she gets help from the hero who considers it as a date while for the heroine it is just help. He said Puneeth Rajkumar’s song with all Kannada slangs has attracted a lot of attention. 

Cinematographer Ganesh Hegde said he is debuting as a cameraman. He said he is from Malnad region and the story has a Malnad touch. He said Malnad has been used to showcase its beauty. 

Producer Shamanth K Rao said he took up the production of the film as a challenge especially after Melody produced by his father failed to muster the numbers. He said the film has a message for women in terms of its content. 

Music composer V Manohar said it is a debut for three people – Vittal Bhat, Nehal and Ganesh Hegde. He said he treated this film as his first film and said he experimented with a song which reminded him of roping in singer Rajesh Krishnan to sing it. 

Nehal said he plays a lover boy in the film which is based on a true love story that happened in his friend’s life. 

Duniya Rashmi said it is second innings for her and termed the film as a good opportunity for her. She said the film has a good story, good team and it was like working with a family where she was looked after well. 

Purvi said she plays the second lead in her first movie. She plays the hero’s cousin and the heroine’s friend in the movie who has a crush on the hero in the movie, she said. Sujay said he played Shobhraj’s son in the movie.

Venkatesh who is distributing the film said Kannada cinema is in turmoil with four to five films releasing every week. He urged the film chamber to take the lead and rein in discipline by allowing one, two or three releases a week. 

ctress Sudha Rani released the audio CD of the film Preeti Kitabu at a function in Bengaluru on Monday. The film is directed by Vittal Bhat and produced by Shamant Rao. The film stars Nehal who has also penned the story. The film also marks Duniya Rashmi’s comeback into movies after a brief hiatus. She is playing the female lead. V Manohar has penned the lyrics and scored the music for the film.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudha Rani said she liked the story narrated by director Bhat and added that a woman oriented subject is apt for society in today’s world. She said she liked the way the director had dealt with the subject. Sudha Rani said she was all for a woman oriented subject.

Music composer and lyricist V Manohar said he has come up with two unique compositions which include use of a single alphabet at the beginning of every word throughout the song. He said Chande instrument has been used that is set to tune by a driver. Puneeth Rajkumar has sung a song. He also said Ganesh Acharya has captured the beauty of Malnad region through his camera eye beautifully.

Shailaja Nag of DBeats which has acquired the music rights said the company she is a big fan of V Manohar for his lyrics and music. She said DBeats will encourage newcomers if the music is good and that it is not just keen to buy music of films that have star value.

Director Vittal Bhat said post-production work for the film is progressing and the film is likely to hit the screens in November. He said a majority portion of the film has been shot in Sagar and its surroundings.

Producer Shamant Rao said Preeti Kitabu is a woman oriented subject and had completed 45 days of shoot. Editor Mohan said the team had executed a well planned schedule.

Nehal said he plays a lover boy and is playing a hero for the first time in a woman oriented subject that was written by him.

Duniya Rashmi said she plays a research scientist in the film who visits villages for her study. She said the shoot in Kodachadri and Jog were ultimate experiences.

Purvi who is playing the second female lead said her character will provide the twist to the story.

Preeti Kitabu  also stars Ramesh Bhat, Shobhraj, Honnavalli Krishna, Bank Janardhan, Rockline Sudhakar, Mimicry Gopi, Sangeetha and Padmini among others. 

ne more personality from media is debuting as silver screen director. Vitthal Bhat, a TV journalist is all set to direct a movie named as ‘Preethi Kithabu’.

Muhurtha of the movie took place near popular temple of Sri Anjaneyaswamy at Nagarabavi. Diamond Star Srinagara Kitty clapped for first scene of the movie whereas, Veteran Cinematographer H.M.Ramachandra switched on the camera.

Addressing the media, ‘Preethi Kitabu’ is a diary of heroine, in which heroine uses to record her routines. Heroine on research work travels from Bengaluru to Sagar where she meets the hero. There she falls in love with the hero. As cinema continuesthere would be a break up between them too. Whether hero and heroine would able to consolidate their love is the climax of the movie’ Vitthal Bhat, director of the movie said.

‘Duniya Rashmi is playing the role of heroine. With this movie we are introducing Poorvi Joshi hails from Gujarat as one more heroine to Sandalwood’ he says.

`Nehal who acted in ‘Yaaradu’ way back, is playing the role of male protagonist. Veteran actors like Ramesh Bhat, Sangeetha, Avinash, Honnavalli Krishna, V.Manohar, Rockline Sudhakar, K.S.Sridhar and others are co-artists of the movie’ he added.

‘The movie is going to shot in greenery back drop like Sagara, Kodachadri, Joga, Sharavathi back water for 32 days. The first schedule of the movie would complete on Dec. 22.  After the completion of first schedule, the second schedule of around ten days including songs would be shot in Bengaluru’ he concluded.

Duniya Rashmi, who is starting her third innings, expressed the confidence that she would get one more break after ‘Duniya’. ‘Even though I haven’t get good break after ‘Duniya’, ‘Preethi Kitabu’ would fullfil that vacuum’ she said.

V.Manohar, music director of the movie said, ‘after ‘Duniya’ and ‘Kirataka’ I haven’t got good break till now. I’m confident that ‘Preethi Kitabu’ would surely give me a necessary break’ he said.

Nehal too expressed same confidence of the movie and director.
