annada film Naagarahaavu has collected Rs 6 crore in the first week and is expected to cross Rs 10 crore in collection at the end of two weeks when the movie will be running in 170 centres. Producer Sajid Qureshi told journalists that Rs 10 crore had been spent on the film’s promotional activity out of the total film’s budget of Rs 50 crore.

Qureshi thanked Bharathi Vishnuvardhan for the support and encouragement and also thanked Ramya for participating in the film’s promotional activity by giving media interviews. He said 18 of his colleagues had worked tirelessly for the last six months and the movie which started production in 2013 got released in 2016.

He said he expected to get Rs 6 crore to Rs 8 crore from the Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie through satellite and collections. He said though the budget was high for the Kannada industry the film had reached Vishnuvardhan’s fans and Kannada audiences have liked the movie. He said Rs 1 crore was spent of floral decoration and flowers at the time of release for cut-outs and posters.

Sajid  Qureshi said he will announce a new production venture with some stars in it soon.

Vishnuvardhan comes back to save Nagalika who is captured by Kapali. Naga Charan runs a music band and has a snake god at home. Manasa, who happens to be Nagalika in her previous birth, wants to join him. Her father Shivaiah is responsible for her earthy journey even as she fights for the Kalasa. Kapali, who is also eyeing the Kalasa kills Nagalika after he secures the Kalasa.

Ramya looks her best and has perhaps given one of the best performances in her acting career. Diganth is adequate.  Ramya’s costumes including nose studs and her big bindi are endearing as much as she has given a cool yet fierce performance in the movie. Darshan makes a special appearance in a song that is again a visual treat. Dr Vishnuvardhan is back in an action role and mouths his lines that spells magic for his fans and people who longed to see him back. Sadhu Kokila, Ramesh Bhat, Amit Tiwari as Kapali, Ravi Kale and Saikumar are adequate.

Gurukiran’s music is apt and it suits the situations. H C Venu’s camera speaks for the film and it spells magic for the eyes.

The film is directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and is touted to be late Vishnuvardhan’s 201st film albeit in a digital form. The film also stars Ramya, Diganth and Saikumar among others.

The film has got a U/A certificate from the censors and is releasing all over Karnataka this Friday on October 14.

It may be recalled that Vishnuvardhan’s body was kept for public darshan for people to pay their last respects in the college soon after his death. The late actor had completed his graduation from the same college.

Naagarahaavu team started the birth anniversary celebrations at the National College Grounds in the afternoon at 2 pm. The team organized annadaana and abhisheka was done to Vishnuvardhan’s cutout using 1,000 liters of milk. A ratha yathra was taken out on the occasion. The evening saw a number of cultural activities that included song and dance programmes.

A huge cake measuring 66 feet in height, weighing 1,000 kilos was cut on the occasion. It was distributed among the fans. The trailer of Naagarahaavu was also released on the occasion.

Producer Sajid Qureshi thanked the people and announced that Naagarahaavu will hit the theatres on October 14.     

Director Kodi Ramakrishna praised the producer for taking a lot of initiative to make the movie. He said 25 poor patients had received financial help for their treatment and hospitalization expenses.

The film’s teaser will be launched on the occasion of Dr Vishnuvardhan’s 66thbirth anniversary. 

A huge cake weighing 1,000 kilos will be cut to celebrate the legend’s birth anniversary. In fact it is believed that the team of Naagarahaavu has taken special permission from the police to celebrate the occasion in public following the recent disturbances.

Meanwhile, Dr Vishnuvardhan’s family will celebrate the actor’s birth anniversary at Dr Vishnu’s residence in Bengaluru. The family has got land from the government to build a memorial in Mysuru and hence the family has decided not to hold any birthday celebrations in the existing site in Abhiman Studio in Bengaluru.

The government has allotted five acres of land to the family to set up a memorial in Mysuru. The late actor’s fans are expected to gather at his residence on Sunday. However, it is not known whether his fans will hold any activities or celebrations in Abhiman Studio.

Director Kodi Ramakrishna said Indians waste a lot of food and money and that could be used to help the poor. He said Simha Hasta programme has given the team happiness and the producers need to be commended for their act. 

The Simha Hasta team identified 25 poor patients who are in need of money  and 23 beneficiaries were given away cheques for Rs 1 lakh each in the presence of music director Gurukiran, director of Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Dr Shashidhar. Sajid Qureshi thanked the team for identifying the right beneficiaries. 

Music composer Gurukiran appreciated the thought behind the process of identifying poor and helping them financially. Dr Shashidhar said the hospital is witness to an act of charity which is happening for the first time. He said many more poor patients should benefit in the future. 

he team of Naagarahaavu disbursed cheques for Rs 1 lakh each to 10 poor patients who are undergoing treatment in various government hospitals all over the state and are unable to bear the treatment costs. 

Producer Sajid Qureshi said only 10 beneficiaries had been identified so far out of 25 patients that was originally planned for receiving financial aid. He said the remaining 15 beneficiaries will be identified within the next few days. 

The film’s audio will be released on August 14 in a government hospital the details of which are still being worked out and will be disclosed soon, Qureshi said. 

Qureshi said initially he felt slighted that the team was doing all this for the sake of publicity of the film. But, when he asked his mother whether it was a gimmick he said his mother felt otherwise and told him to go ahead with what the team intended to do for the poor patients. He said his mother also told him that it was not wrong to seek publicity for the purpose. He said his mother also told him that people will be inspired to donate money for such causes.

he team of Naagarahaavu revealed the first look of Saikumar in the film as a birthday gift to the actor. Saikumar is playing a key role in the film and his presence in the movie was kept a secret for a long time. The team also wished Saikumar on his birthday on Wednesday and released a teaser marking his presence in the movie.

Naagarahaavu is produced by Sajid Qureshi and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Saahasa Simha late Vishnuvardhan will come alive on the screen in the film in what is described the late actor’s 201st film. The film stars Ramya and Diganth in lead roles.

SAIKUMAR 55:  Meanwhile, Saikumar turned 55 on Wednesday. The actor who has just begun shoot for Saiprakash’s untitled 98th film flew to Hyderabad on his birthday to be with his son Adi for the teaser launch of Telugu film Chittalu Abbayi that stars father and son. The film is said to be Adi’s 8th film which is directed by Veerabhadram. Chittalu Abbayi is produced by Ram and Venkat. Chittalu Abbayi stars Namitha Pramod, a girl from Kerala who is debuting in Telugu and Malavika Avinash is acting opposite Saikumar in the film.

Saikumar said he was thrilled to act with his son and to be seen together in a movie. He said his birthday celebrations are normally a homely affair but this year he said he was happy that the teaser of his son’s film in which he had also starred was getting launched.

On his role in Naagarahaavu, Saikumar said his role is important and that there is a big episode in the movie that is good enough involving himself. He said there is an action scene in Naagarahaavu that is composed by Thriller Manju which has all the grandeur that is required of the movie.

Saikumar said he is eagerly to waiting Vishnuvardhan on the big screen.

Nagaarahaavu will have its audio release at a government hospital on August 14 and is tentatively scheduled for a release on September 16 ahead of Vishnuvardhan’s birth anniversary which falls on September 18.

he Naagarahaavu team led by its producer Sajid Qureshi inaugurated the two-day 9th Annual School Olympic Meet at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. The film team is also sponsoring the annual event which is organized by Youngsters Sports Club. 

International athlete Ashwini Nachappa, former ACP Lokeshwar besides sportspersons Bindu Rani, Poonam Belliappa and Kabaddi player Ramesh participated in the inaugural function. The sports event is being attended and competed by 2,000 students from 80 schools and 20 colleges between the age group of 10-18 years in four categories. New meet records were created in discuss throw and long jump. 

Meanwhile, international athlete Ashwini Nachappa launched the mobile app of Naagarahaavu on Friday. The app will become available from Saturday. Using the app, one can take a selfie and replace your photograph on Vishnuvardhan’s picture that has two designs. Such a provision has been made to render the app interactive. The mobile app is user-friendly and has been designed keeping the actor’s fans and children in mind, according to the film’s production team. 

The Naagarahaavu team sponsored the medals to winners in the sports meet which had Vishnuvardhan’s picture in it.

Sajid Qureshi, producer of the movie, told reporters on Thursday that instead of spending Rs 25 lakh on the audio release function the team intends to distribute Rs 1 lakh each to 25 poor and needy patients in government hospitals spread over the entire state of Karnataka. Every beneficiary will get a demand draft for Rs 1 lakh and an audio CD of the movie Naagarahaavu in a function to be held at one of the government hospitals on August 14 between 2 pm and 3 pm,

Qureshi said the team is spending only Rs 2,500 for releasing the film’s audio. Vishnuvardhan’s portrait will be garlanded and a lamp will be lit for the audio release.

He said Vishnuvardhan’s fans already know about the movie and are eagerly waiting to see the movie. Qureshi said hence organizing an audio release function will be a waste of money for the team which could be used for helping the poor and needy who need it the most.

He said the team will formally announce the details about the audio release event to be held at a government hospital on August 7 which will give the late actor’s fans and celebrities a week’s time to contribute for the cause. He said a bank account under the name Simha Hasta will be opened for the purpose which will become active from August 8. The deposits in the account will also be used to help the poor and needy.

Sajid Qureshi also announced that the film Naagarahaavu is in its final stages of post-production. He said the film is tentatively slated for a release on September 16, two days prior to Vishnuvardhan’s birth anniversary.

Qureshi also said he wanted to give Bharathi Vishnuvardhan a surprise as she is not aware of the Simha Hasta initiative or the audio release function details that the team has planned. Sony Music has acquired the music rights of Naagarahaavu.

Music director Gurukiran said working in a Vishnuvardhan’s film is a boon and god sent as he is a huge fan of the actor.

Earlier, director Kodi Ramakrishna told reporters that Vishnuvardhan’s appearance will be the highlight of the film and it will shock and surprise audiences. “Vishnuvardhan’s appearance is the film’s wonder,” he said.

The director was all praise for Ramya who appears as a snake in the film. Ramya is dynamic, positive and sentimental in her role opposite Diganth. He said Ramya’s talent, emotions and her eyes are terrific.

Kodi Ramakrishna said the film will release in July after the audio launch which is coming up in June.  He said Gurukiran has composed six songs in the movie and each song tells the story of the story.

Referring to Vishnuvardhan’s first film as a hero which has a similar title Naagarahaavu, Ramakrishna said he was a fan of the artiste from the day he watched the film which is also one of his favourite films. He said Vishnuvardhan had okayed a script before he exited from our world.

On casting Vishnuvardhan, Kodi Ramakrishna said it was Sajid Qureshi’s idea to inject dynamism into the plot and Vishnuvardhan’s entry has done that in the climax.

The director of Arundhati said Naagarahaavu is a heroine-oriented film where the snake is struggling. 

he teaser of upcoming film Naagarahaavu that stars Vishnuvardhan, Ramya and Diganth will be launched in Bhumika theatre on Monday, May 30 at 7.30 pm. The film is directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and produced by Sajid Qureshi.

As a pre-cursor to the teaser launch, there will be a Dolu Kunita in front of the theatre starting at 4.30 pm on Monday and will continue till 7-7.30 pm until the teaser is launched officially. The theatre which is showing U-Turn will cancel its 7.30 pm show on Monday.

As part of the launch there will be a procession undertaken by the team as part of the film’s promo and an auto rally will also be held from 4.30 pm. Naagarahaavu is produced by Sohail Ansari and Dhaval Jayantilal Gada jointly by Blockbuster Movies and Pen Movies. Salauddin Yousuf is the executive producer of the movie. The film stars Diganth and Ramya in lead roles. The film is directed by Kodi Ramakrishna.

annada superstar Sahasa Simha late Vishnuvardhan will come alive on screen in Naagarahaavu, a film that made him a star in Kannada cinema. However, the film with the same title that has been in the making for more than three years stars Diganth and Ramya in lead roles. Naagarahaavu is helmed by ace Telugu director Kodi Ramakrishna who is directing his first Kannada film.

Announcing this at the film’s title launch in Bengaluru, director Kodi Ramakrishna said Vishnuvardhan will come alive on screen in the film Naagarahaavu using digital head replacement technology. He said the first look of the late actor will be revealed on the occasion of his death anniversary on December 30 at the Abhiman Studio. A 101 feet poster  of the late actor will be unveiled at the venue that will also reveal his looks in the movie, he said.

He said the film will be a gift to his fans and Kannadigas as Vishnuvardhan will be reborn on the screen with Naagarahaavu. He said there has been a lot of responsibility, tension and fear in bringing Vishnuvardhan back to the big screen. He said he had taken permission of the late actor’s wife Bharathi Vishnuvardhan in this effort. Ramakrishna said he enjoyed Bharathi’s support and added that the day all the work pertaining to the film is over and when Bharathi madam sheds tears watching the movie Naagarahaavu will hit the theatres.

Salauddin Yousuf, executive producer of the film said Vishnuvardhan’s character has been created using 3D face morphing technology and added that Vishnuvardhan will appear in the climax. He said Makuta who was responsible for the visual effects in Eega and Baahubali has worked in this movie.

The film Naagarahaavu has H C Venu’s cinematography and Gurukiran’s music. The film is produced by Sohail Ansari and Dhaval Jayantilal Gada jointly by Blockbuster Movies and Pen Movies. The film also stars Sadhu Kokila and Rahul Dev.
