SUDEEP, PRAKASH RAI WIN NANDI AWARDS

ichcha Sudeep and Prakash Rai have won the prestigious Nandi Award that is instituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their performances in Telugu films. While Sudeep has won the best villain award for his performance in Eega (2012), Prakash Rai has won the best supporting actor for his performance in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Jettu (2013). S S Rajamouli has won the best director award for Eega. M M Keeravani and Ilayaraja have won the music director awards for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Jettu. Eega has also won awards for best film, best music, special effects and cinematography categories.

Sudeep had acted in Rajamouli’s blockbuster film Bahubali in a small role and is said to be making an appearance in Bahubali 2 as well.

The announcement of Nandi Awards for 2012 and 2013 had been delayed due to creation of the new state Telangana. Government of Telangana is also expected to announce its film awards soon.
