r Premi is the last film that will be releasing in 2015. The movie that is directed by debutant Shivalinga and produced by Shantaraj will release in about 20 to 25 theatres all over Karnataka on December 31. The film marks the debut of producer Shantaraj’s son Kushal Raj and it also stars Tejaswini Prakash, Leona Lishoy, Chikkanna, Saikumar, Kuri Pratap and Petrol Prasanna among others.

The team of Mr Premi staged a protest in front of Gandhi statue in Gandhinagar on Tuesday demanding more theatres to release the movie.

Producer Shantaraj said he is introducing his son into cinema and is dedicating his movie to the audiences.

Director Shivalinga said the film was shot in Manali for 25 days and in Bengaluru for 35 days. He said Kushal Raj had got trained in acting, dance and had undergone gym training before his launch. The film he said is about girls who don’t express their love for several reasons and end up being disappointed.

Ramanarayan who has penned the story said it is a love story and is a must watch for all lovers. He said Kushal Raj has scored well in acting, dance and fights. Saikumar has acted in his 200th film as a blind man and incidentally he had acted as the same in his first film as well, he said. Two heroines are acting in the movie. Ramanarayan said the film has love, suspense and thrill.

Music director Chandrakanth said the movie has six situational songs.

Kushal Raj said he forcibly brought his father back to the film industry. He said his father Shantaraj didn’t want him (son) to act in movies. But, Kushal said it was his dream to act in movies. He said he underwent training and when his father saw his passion he came forward to produce the movie. Kushal said he was looking for other opportunities if movies didn’t happen. He said the story had all the elements for a commercial movie and that he shed 15 kilos for the role.

Tejaswini said he plays Monica in the movie who is a homely girl but is a responsible girl as well with doses of glamour added to her role. She said it was cold to shoot in Manali and added that her co-star is a trained actor. She said she shared good chemistry with her co-star.

Malayali girl Leona Lishoy said she is debuting in Kannada cinema with this movie and said she was happy to be associated with the project. She said whatever she had done was due to the support from the team. She said she plays Nandini a homely, bold and an ambitious girl who undergoes a lot of emotional variations in her character. She said the role was close to her heart. She learns skiing to earn a living. She said it was a blessing to have acted with Saikumar who plays her blind brother.

Chinne Gowda and Green House Vasan also wished the team good luck.
