‘MAGADHA’ LAUNCHED Director Swami Ram told journalists that the title is a Sanskrit word that has reference to Magadha Kingdom that existed before Christ. Magadha is the son of Yadu who is a travelling soldier and someone who thinks differently. He has no fear of death and is a good Samaritan, he said. The film will be shot in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Manipal. Srinivas A is handling the camera. The film will have one theme song, the director said. Rahul said he is acting in his first commercial film. He said he had undergone an acting training course. The young actor who is armed with a mechanical engineering degree said he had worked in Kuwait for two years and in Bengaluru for a year before he took up the acting course. Nakshatra, the younger daughter of director late D Rajendra Babu and Sumitra, who has now rechristened herself as Deepti, her original name said she plays a college-going girl who brings in the twist to the story. Vaishnavi Chandran said Magadha is her second movie in Kannada and is doing a Telugu movie as well. She said she is a professional dancer and is currently pursuing her II PUC at Mount Carmel College. Vaishnavi said she appears in the first half of the movie. Jassie Gift is composing the music for the movie which will have four songs and a theme song. He said he had just begun work on composing music. |
