ಹೊಸ ಅವತಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಸ್ತಿಗುಡಿ
ಸುಮಾರು 290 ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡ ‘ಮಾಸ್ತಿಗುಡಿ’ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಓಟ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿನಿರಸಿಕರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಇದನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ದೆಯಿಂದ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ನಾಗಶೇಖರ್ 12 ನಿಮಿಷದ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಕ್ಲೈಮಾಕ್ಸ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರೂಪಣ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಲ್ಪಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಸುಂದರ್.ಪಿ.ಗೌಡ್ರು, ವಿಜಯ್‍ರವರ ಸಹಮತಿ ಇದೆ. ವಿಜಯ್‍ರವರು ಒತ್ತಡದಿಂದ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ವದಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿದೆ. ಇದು ಶುದ್ದ ಸುಳ್ಳು, ಅದ್ಬುತ ಕತೆ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವರು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಂದೆ ಜನರು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು. ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವುಗಳು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲೆ ಬೇಕು. ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲಿ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಂದು ಮಾದ್ಯಮದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾದರು ದುನಿಯಾವಿಜಯ್.

ಬೇರೆ ತರಹದ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ತೆರೆಗೆ ತಂದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿಶ್ರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾಡು-ಕಾಡು ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತರಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಳಿಕೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ, ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಂದು ಹೇಳೋಕೆ ಕಷ್ಟ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ರಂಗಾಯಣರಘು. ಮೊದಲ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಕಲೆಕ್ಷನ್ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬಂತು. ನಂತರ ಐಪಿಲ್ ಪಂದ್ಯ, ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂಚ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲ ಸುಧಾರಿಸಬಹುದೆಂಬ ಆಶಾಭಾವನೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ವಿತರಕ ಜಾಕ್‍ಮಂಜು ಅವರದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಬೇರೇನೂ ಹೇಳದೆ ಮೌನಕ್ಕೆ ಜಾರಿದರು.

ಉದಯ್ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಷ ಠೇವಣ
‘ಮಾಸ್ತಿ ಗುಡಿ’ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವನ್ನಪಿದ ಖಳನಟ ಉದಯ್ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೂ ಮುಂಚೆ ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಅಂಬರೀಷ್, ವಾಣ ಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಂದರ್.ಪಿ.ಗೌಡ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅದರಂತೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ್ಯಂತ ತೆರೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾಯಕ ವಿಜಯ್, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ನಾಗಶೇಖರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಾಣ ಕ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಐಸಿಐಸಿಐ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಇಡಲಾದ ಠೇವಣ ಹಣ 20.00 ಲಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಉದಯ್ ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿ ಮಾನವಿಯತೆ ಮರೆದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳು ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಎಂದು 20000 ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಾಹಸ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ರವಿವರ್ಮ, ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಜೀವ್‍ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್‍ರವರು ಅನಿಲ್, ಉದಯ್ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ತಲಾ ಐದು ಲಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರವು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಐದು ಲಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಗೃಹ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಉಚಿತ ಸೈಟ್‍ನ್ನು ಮಂಜೂರು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದು ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಾದ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಇಂತಹ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ವಿಷಮ ಪರಿಸ್ಥ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ಇರಬಹುದೆಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಕ್ರಮತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಸಾರಾಗೋವಿಂದು.

MAASTIGUDI’ READYING FOR A MAY RELEASE

annada film Maastigudi which got mired in controversy following the death of two of its actors is now readying for a release in May. The film is produced by Sundar Gowdru and directed by Nagashekar based on Duniya Vijay’s story. The film stars Duniya Vijay, Rangayana Raghu, Devaraj, Suhasini, Dattanna, Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar Gowda, Amulya and Kriti Kharbanda among others. Sadhu Kokila has scored the music and Satya Hegde is the cameraman.

Director Nagashekar told reporters that his dream project is almost ready to hit the screens. He said the film is in the last stage of post-production. He said Maastigudi is an animal film and has a theme of save tigers, save forests and save wildlife. He said the Animal Welfare Board had already approved the film as the film has used live horses and elephants. No other real wild animal has been used. He said the film is based on a real incident that happened in B R Hills in 1998.

He said a considerable amount of time has been spent researching on the aspect of ‘save tigers’. Save Tigers is also a scientific project and there is a science which is explained in the film, Nagashekar said. If man is getting drinking water it is because of the existence of the tigers, he said.

The director said Vijay’s look was likened to that of Rajinikanth and added that the budget for the film had doubled to about Rs 14 crore to 15 crore from the earlier estimates of Rs 7 crore as the film demanded such expenditure. He said all departments in the film team worked in harmony.

Jack Manju who is distributing the film said Nagashekar has done a storyboard for the film that can be made into a film even by a lay person. He said there is a lot of craze and eagerness for the film. He promised that he will see to it that the film will surpass Hebbuli in terms of box-office collections. He said the film will release in 350 theatres.

Cameraman Satya Hegde said the film will give a visual relief and treat to the audiences. Ravishankar Gowda said he plays a mad man in the movie who is made to look unrecognizable with buck tooth, torn and tattered clothes which are also greased while sporting a slim body.

Sadhu Kokila said the film had come out well and songs were becoming popular.

Duniya Vijay said he gets to sport five different get-ups in the movie. He said he was happy and emotional about the film’s completion.

MAASTIGUDI’ AUDIO RELEASED

mbarish released the audio of ‘Maastigudi’ on the festival day of Mahashivaratri and wished the team success. The film is directed by Nagashekar and is produced by Sundar Gowda. The film stars Duniya Vijay, Amulya, Kriti Kharbanda, Rangayana Raghu, Ravishankar Gowda and Bullet Prakash among others.  

Ambarish urged the people to watch the movie and make it a success so that families of Anil and Uday get relief. Producer Sundar Gowda had announced a small percentage of the film’s profits will go as compensation to the families of the two actors who died in an accident during the film shoot.  

At the audio launch function, families of Uday and Anil were present. Anil’s wife and children besides Uday’s mother were yet to come to terms with the tragedy that has befallen their families.   

KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu said he had convinced chief minister Siddaramaiah to announce a financial relief package to families of the deceased and so he said the chief minister was magnanimous in announcing Rs 5 lakh each to the families.  

Now, the families have to wait for the release of the film to expect some more financial relief and assistance. The success of the film will help the bereaved families get more financial assistance as the breadwinners of the families were no more.

FILM CHAMBER LIFTS TEMPORARY BAN ON MAASTIGUDI TEAM

he Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has lifted the temporary ban on members of Maastigudi team after the team tendered an apology for the death of actors Uday and Anil in a stunt sequence during the film's shoot.

Sa Ra Govindu, president of KFCC told reporters that the team of Maastigudi has agreed to help the families of Uday and Anil and added that there will be no more discussion on why and how the accident happened. He said the team is feeling bad and sad about what had happened and that it is not right to punish them further. He said the temporary ban on the film’s director Nagashekar, actor Vijay and stunt director Ravivarma has been lifted following the assurance given by the team that they will help the families of the deceased.

Producer Sundar Gowda said a small share of the film's profit will go towards the families and Uday and Anil.

Rockline Venkatesh said whatever had happened was due to fate and that nobody would have done it on purpose. He said destiny is not in our hands. He said henceforth all the film crews need to take precautions and also insure the stuntmen before such sequences are taken up.

Doddanna said the cinema should release at the earliest and added the team of Maastigudi enjoys the support of all associations.

Duniya Vijay became emotional when he said he had lost two of his friends and thanked all the associations including the KFCC and the media for cooperating and the support extended to the team.  

Director Nagashekar said destiny was not in anyone’s hands. The incident was unfortunate and not the mistake of the team. He said they wanted to can an extraordinary stunt sequence but the tragedy struck the team out of overconfidence. He apologized for whatever had happened.

Stunt director Ravivarma said he had directed action scenes without any blemish in his career so far. He said it was a bad moment when the tragedy happened and added that he was not at fault/ He said he will take precautions in future and expressed his apology for the incident from his end.  

The shooting for Maastigudi is almost over with two days of shoot yet to be completed.

‘MAASTIGUDI INCIDENT IS A WAKE UP CALL TO KANNADA FILMDOM’

a Ra Govindu, president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday admitted that the recent death of two artistes in the stunt incident during the shoot of Maastigudi is a wake up call to the industry. He said all precautions and preparations have to be made henceforth so that such incidents do not recur in the future.

He told reporters that the director and stunt director are responsible for such incidents and it is not the producer. He said the producer will have to ensure that all the artistes’ lives are insured before taking up such challenges. He said a corpus fund will be set up by the apex body with the support of Artistes Association and Producers’ Association so that timely financial assistance can be extended to people who meet with  such accidents.

Rockline Venkatesh who represented the artistes body urged all the new artistes to register themselves with the body so that they could benefit from facilities that are available.

Govindu said a meeting of artistes body, producers body and the KFCC will be held soon under the stewardship of Ambarish to discuss the compensation that needs to be extended to the families of Uday and Anil who died in the stunt incident last week.

MAASTIGUDI STARTS ROLLING
‘Maastigudi’ was launched with a lot of fanfare at the Kanteerava Studio with many stars attending the muhurta function. A special set of Goddess Maastiamma, the Goddess of jungle was erected next to a tree in the sprawling lawns of the studio. Mothers of actors and technicians working in the movie launched the film.

Maastigudi is based on a real incident which occurred in Biligiri Rangana Betta in the 1990s and Duniya Vijay who is playing the lead has himself penned the story. Nagashekar is directing the movie and Maastigudi is produced by Sundar Gowda and Anil.

Nagashekar told reporters that the film is based on the government’s pet theme Save Tiger under the Project Tiger. He said Maastigudi is a commercial film with focus on wildlife conservation. He said Duniya Vijay has four shades to his role ranging from 25 years to 75 years of age but did not reveal whether Vijay will be playing a forest officer. Nagashekar said the film will have six fights that will be action packed and adventurous during a 90-day schedule that has been drawn up.

Nagashekar said the producers will be putting in big money up to Rs 15 crore on the project that includes shooting real animals like leopards and tigers in Australia and Thailand respectively. He said it would not be possible to shoot animals in India without the permission of Animal Board.

The director said Sadhu Kokila will be scoring the music as the film will have folklore and soliga tribes participating as part of the movie. Satya Hegde is the cameraman and Arun Sagar is working as an art director and is also acting in a special role that requires him to fight with Vijay in the film, Nagashekar said.

Nagashekar said if things go according to plan the film will be released in June.

Duniya Vijay did not specify details about his role or his new get-up but said Maastigudi is a love story and that the heroine is yet to be finalized.

Lyricist Kaviraj said he will continue to write lyrics for songs even after turning director. He will be penning lyrics for four songs in the movie.
