KARNATAKA FILM CHAMBER EXTENDS RS 10 LAKH DONATION FOR FLOODS

arnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has extended Rs 10 lakh as donation towards flood relief operation to those affected in Chennai. The apex body of the Kannada film industry will collect the financial donations from various associations affiliated to the body and meet the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha directly to donate to the Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund once the situation eases.

President of KFCC, Sa Ra Govindu said producer S V Babu and producer of forthcoming film Chakravyuha had donated Rs 2 lakh each to the apex body to be forwarded to the Tamil Nadu chief minister’s fund. According to Govindu, the chamber expects to collect Rs 50 lakh from all affiliated bodies as donation amount for the purpose.

Ambarish, president of Karnataka Cine Artistes’ Association said all possible help should be extended to the flood victims of Chennai. He said a meeting of artistes will be held in a day or two to decide the plan of action. Similarly, Munirathna Naidu, president of Karnataka Film Producers’ Association has said that a meeting of all producers will be held to discuss how the flood victims could be helped.
