he Kannada and Telugu versions of Killing Veerappan is running successfully at the box-office. The film is directed by Ram Gopal Verma and it stars Shivarajkumar, Yajna Shetty, Parul Yadav and Sandeep Bharadwaj in lead roles.

Director Ram Gopal Verma told reporters that the film was shot was 31 days out of which Shivarajkumar participated in the shoot for 20 days. He praised Shivanna for running barefoot in the Yellapur forest area. He said the climax shoot had come out well and acting was superb by all the artistes. He thanked all his technicians who worked hard for the movie’s success.

Velu of Lahari Audio said he was happy that the Kannada flag has been hoisted in Andhra successfully and added that it is great that a film has competed against star-studded films in Telugu.

Parul Yadav and Yajna Shetty thanked the team for giving them the opportunity to be part of the project.

Sandeep Bharadwaj who played Veerappan in the movie said RGV had cast him in the role with the faith that he would deliver. He said he would have missed the opportunity had Vikram Gaekwad not introduced him to RGV.

Sanchari Vijay reminded himself and the audiences about how he got the opportunity.

Shivarajkumar said the film’s success in the New Year had come as an energy booster. He said it was not necessary for a good film to run 100 days. He said if the film has good script, actors and people reporting on time it is possible for a film to be completed in a short span which had been proved by RGV.

Shivanna thanked people of Andhra Pradesh for watching the movie and added that people had accepted the movie.

The actor said he was a child in every film as that would help him learn new things. He said the team will give a double dhamaka in ‘South’.

The team released a CD containing the background music of the movie.

illing Veerappan, a docudrama thriller written and directed by Ram Gopal Verma will hit the theatres on January 1, 2016. The film’s Kannada and Telugu versions will be released on the New Year’s Day while the Tamil and Hindi versions will release later. The film is produced by B V Manjunath, B S Sudhindra and Shivaprakash. The film stars Shivarajkumar, Sandeep Bharadwaj, Yajna Shetty, Parul Yadav and Sanchari Vijay among others.

Ram Gopal Verma (RGV) told journalists that it was his dream of 12 years to make a film on Veerappan which has a long chapter in India’s crime history. He said it was difficult for him to take part of Veerappan’s story. But, after he met a person who was connected with the killing of the forest brigand he said a lot of research went into the making of the film. Verma said he met Shivarajkumar who he said had the enthusiasm and energy of a newcomer. He said Shivarajkumar’s character is radical and authentic that has been made realistic. Verma said Parul plays a woman who is a real life character without disclosing details about it.Verma said for the first time the villain has a love story but the hero doesn’t have one. RGV said justice had been done in a cinematic way by killing Veerappan.

Yajna Shetty said she was excited about playing a real life character and that of Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi and added that she was eager to know the response from the woman herself about her (Yajna’s) performance. She said she was impressed with RGV’s working and making style who was an easy going technician to work with. She said she was glad to have worked with Shivarajkumar for the second time and Parul who was easy to work with.

Parul Yadav said she was waiting for the release of the movie and added that it was her best role to date in her career so far. She said she was happy and excited to have read Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet about the movie. Parul said she enjoyed working with Shivarajkumar and the director RGV.

Sridhar K S said he plays police commissioner in the film and that he is working with Shivarajkumar for the third time in a row. He said he started acting in movies as a sub-inspector and now he is happy to have got promoted after working in 30 to 35 films with most of the roles being offered to him were of junior ranked police officers earlier.

Rajesh Nataranga said he was initially scared to work with RGV but he added that he became observant about RGV’s working style and how the director conceived a shot.

Sanchari Vijay said he had grown up watching Shivanna and RGV’s films and added that it was like catching stars while working with both.

Shivarajkumar said it was an opportunity to work with RGV who brings new technicians on board. He said he had started loving Veerappan in a harsh way. He said RGV had fed him like a baby with all details. He said he was happy to have sung a song for the movie which he took it up as a challenge.

Shivarajkumar also announced that he would be working with RGV in another film titled ‘South’ soon without specifying other details.

ash released the music CD and a song of the multilingual film ‘KillingVeerappan’ that is directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Shivanna released the song sung by Puneeth. The film stars Shivarajkumar, Parul Yadav and Yajna Shetty in key roles.

Rockline and Ragini Dwivedi released the trailer of the movie.

Yash said two speed machines Shivarajkumar and Ram Gopal Varma have come together for the movie. He said Shivanna’s presence would have made an impact on director’s mind and said Shivanna had sung the song well in the movie.

Director Ram Gopal Varma said years of research on the subject had culminated in the film. He said it was difficult to make film in a language that he didn’t understand. He said Veerappan is a complex film subject as a lot of material is available in media and books. “I strongly felt that something else should be told about Veerappan in a way that it has not been told. Its an irony that this is where the story happened,” he said.

The director said the film goes behind the killing and not about the man himself. He said the film tries to capture the moment that kills the forest brigand. The director said Veerappan is a new kind of subject for him as a director and expressed that the confidence that he had done justice to whatever he had conceptualized in his mind.

Shivarajkumar said he would like to remain a student all his life and said the director had contributed 80 percent of whatever he had done. He said Ram Gopal Varma should have become an actor as he gave all the actors the kind of body language that they should follow. He said he experienced and enjoyed every moment and every scene of the movie.

Parul Yadav said the film is not fictional but a real life character and added that the director prepared her by giving details of what was expected of the artistes. She said all the artistes became characters and none mugged up their lines. He praised RGV’s style of making. She also praised Shivarajkumar’s child like curiosity to learn and his energy to give his best.

Yajna Shetty said it was a dream come true for her to be given such a performance-oriented role. She said she portrays a realistic character that is still alive today.

Music composer Ravishankar praised Shivanna’s acting and the song that he had sung.

Lahari Audio has acquired the music rights of the film and Velu said RGV’s film signals the arrival of good times in Kannada cinema.

Ragini Dwivedi who came in as a guest said the emotions and the feel of the movie is realistic portrayed.

Rockline Venkatesh said he played a small role in the movie. He praised RGV for his preparation before going for the shoot and the sense of editing that he brought even on the sets.

Killing Veerappan is produced by B V Manjunath, B S Sudhindra and Shivaprakash E. The film is being simultaneously made in Kannada and Hindi and being dubbed into Tamil and Telugu.

amgopal Verma released a teaser of his forthcoming film Killing Veerappan at the Santosh theatre in Bengaluru on Sunday evening. The film stars Shivarajkumar in the lead and has Yajna Shetty, Parul Yadav among others in the cast. As promised by the director that the movie’s teaser will be out on Shivanna’s birthday, Ramgopal Verma stuck to his word.

The screening of the teaser happened in the midst of a huge crowd that had just finished watching a film. The crowd at the theatre went ga-ga over the teaser and the presence of stars amidst them. Shivarajkumar, Ramgopal Verma, Aditya, Parul Yadav and Rockline Venkatesh were present at the launch of the film Killing Veerappan’s teaser. However, there was no cake cutting for Shivarajkumar at the theatre whose birthday was being celebrated throughout the day. The crowds dispersed after the screening of the teaser and so did the stars. Nobody spoke on the occasion.

amgopal Verma’s much talked about film ‘Killing Veerappan’ was launched amidst fanfare at a colourful function in a plush Bengaluru hotel on Saturday evening.

The film which will be made in four languages – Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi – will start its shoot on June 21.

Ramgopal Verma said the film is based on real life incidents that led to the death of Veerappan. He said the film will have no reference to Rajkumar abduction episode adding that the film will relive the events one year prior to the forest brigand’s death.

He said although the film will give a realistic feel it will be entertaining as well. Sandeep is playing the role of Veerappan. Verma said he plans to release the movie in October after a 50-day shooting schedule. No other details of the movie were disclosed.

Shivarajkumar said he grew up watching Verma’s films and said it was a good opportunity to work with the director while hoping that the film would come out well. He said he plays a cop in the movie and had liked Verma’s Rakta Charitra.

Parul Yadav said she had got a good opportunity to work in Verma’s film. Yajna Shetty said her role is a realistic one and hoped to carry it out well.

The film is produced under the banner G R Pictures. To mark the occasion of Shivarajkumar’s birthday the team plans to release the trailer of the movie onJuly 12.
