K
annada film ‘Kal Kg Preethi’ that got released last weekend without any fanfare or publicity has garnered good response from the public. The film is produced by A B Raju and directed Satya Shourya Sagar. The film marks the debut of Sihi Kahi Chandru and Sihi Kahi Geetha’s daughter Hitha Chandrashekar into cinema as a heroine and also Vihaan Gowda’s debut as a hero.

Producer  Raju told reporters on Tuesday that they intend to add another 15 theatres from the following Friday. He said the main theatre in Kempe Gowda in Majestic area of Bengaluru did not work out financially for the team and so Kamakya theatre in Banashankari has become the main theatre. The film is now waiting for its turn to be released in UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Director Satya Shourya Sagar said it is difficult to make audiences laugh and added that the beauty of a comedy film is that the draw is for the moment and the resultant laugh is also for that instant. People have laughed and enjoyed the movie, he said.

Cameraman Shivakumar said there has no compromise on the quality of the film. Playback singer Chetan who has scored the music for the film said the main aim of the publicity exercise will now be to get back the money invested on the project for the producer.

Hitha Chandrashekar said she dreamt of acting in a Yogaraj Bhat film banner. She said the director made them practice before going to the camera. She said the film has to reach all the people.

Vihaan Gowda said media has encouraged the film and people had not underestimated them. He said his dream of acting in a movie had been realized. He said Yogaraj Bhat had said that people with good looks will not become big heroes and that there should be a spark that should touch the people. He said people recognized him in Mangaluru which shows the response to the movie has been good. He said the film is youthful and both the hero and heroine were trained for two months. He said technicians have also acted in the movie and made the people laugh. Multiplexes have increased the number of shows by three after the response.
