PRODUCERS TRADE BLOWS AT CD RELEASE OF ‘KAANJI PINJI LOVE

his was unheard of in the Kannada film industry. One of the producers barged into the audio release function of ‘Kaanji Pinji Love’ and claimed that he is the actual producer of the movie. Velu of Lahari Audio released the audio CD of the movie.

The film is produced by Akbar Sharief, Kumarm Yogesh and two others. Ejaz Khan who barged into the function claimed that he had invested 70 percent of the cost on the movie without disclosing how much he had actually invested. Ejaz Khan said he had been sidelined  and that the audio release was illegal.

One of the producers Kumar said according to the agreement the film Kaanji Pinji has made at a budget of Rs 80 lakh. He said Khan had given Rs 10 lakh. The agreement said if he had spent Rs 30 lakh and finds 100 centres to screen the movie 70 percent of the box-office returns will be credited to him.

Lahari Velu said Kumar is innocent and that Ejaz is trying to cheat which was unheard of in the industry. He said the producers should find an amicable solution and settle the dispute. Umesh Banakar said he had never seen Ejaz Khan at all.

Meanwhile, before all the drama unfolded, Bhadravathi Ramakrishna who has written and directed the film besides penning the lyrics told reporters Kaanji Pinji Love is a serious love story despite carrying such a title. He said lovers get separated and repent for it. The film stars Deepika Das and a newbie in it.

Ramakrishna said he chose the title because people made fun of the films and the titles being made.

The film has been shot in Sagar, Bhadravathi, Shivamogga, Kavali Durga Fort, Bidadi and Bengaluru. The shoot for the film has been completed. Dhruva Raj has scored the music.
