ormer chief minister H D Kumaraswamy who produced the film Jaguar that saw the launch of son’s film career as an actor in Kannada and Telugu thanked the media for the positive reviews and encouragement for the film.

He said some distributors in Karnataka have monopolized the theatre distribution system and taking out movies even if they were running well and collecting good amounts. He said the Karnataka Film Producers Association and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce were not doing enough to encourage Kannada film producers. He said both the bodies charged Rs 50,000 each from the producers but did not support any producer especially the small producers.

The former chief minister who has returned to film trade after 12 years said politics is much easier than cinema trade and Gandhinagar politics as Gandhinagar is a tough nut to crack. He said he is warning all the pundits to set the system right as he has just entered the scene. He said he is back in the industry due to his son’s launch as an actor and is coming to know about the goings on in the industry.

Kumaraswamy said the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce should not allow Tamil and Telugu films to release simultaneously in taluk and district centres as they would hit collections of Kannada films.

Nikhil Kumar thanked the media for the support and encouragement. He said he has launched a forum called Nikhil Talents to encourage and nurture new talents coming into the industry. He said he will shortly begin work on his second film.

Sampath said the film Jaguar is seeing repeat audience. Prashant Siddi and Vinayak Joshi thanked the media and the producer for the support and opening.

Lahari Velu expressed his desire to Kumaraswamy and his team for the betterment of the industry.

he audio CD and trailer of Jaguar was released in Mandya on Friday night at a grand function held at Sir M Vishveshraya Stadium in the presence of huge number of fans and film fraternity. The film is produced by H D Kumaraswamy and Anitha Kumaraswamy and directed by Mahadev. The film marks the debut of HDK and Anitha’s son Nikhil Kumar as an actor. Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and his wife Chennamma Deve Gowda were also present to bless their grandson’s entry into tinsel town.

The evening was entertaining with Shalini and Arun Sagar hosting the show together. Shamitha Malnad and Vijay Prakash sang two songs each and kept the audiences engaged till the audio CD got released.

Jagapathi Babu who has acted in the movie said it was nice to see such a huge crowd. He said Jaguar is good and his role is a nice one. Kumaraswamy is a good politician and the best CM and also the next CM of Karnataka.

Sampath said he hadn’t seen a politician like HDK. He said HDK is like any other ordinary person. He said the film is releasing on October 6 and that he was waiting to see it.

Aditya Menon who plays the villain in the movie said HDK has spent lavishly on producing a bilingual movie and that he had made a good name as a politician. He wished HDK to become the CM and his son a superstar.

Bhajarangi Loki said it is big movie in Kannada cinema and hoped that people will like it.

Music director S S Thaman said music director and lyricist are like husband and wife and added that Rama Jois has penned the lyrics well.

Director Mahadev said Jaguar is the biggest film of his career. He said producer HDK is passionate about cinema though he didn’t know much about politics and added that Nikhil will be a South Indian star.

Story writer Vijayendra Prasad said Nikhil is born in a family of two tigers – H D Deve Gowda and HDK and expressed the hope that HDK will become the next CM.

Heroine Deepti Sati said she is happy and excited about the movie’s completion and the audio release happening amidst a huge gathering.

Lahari Velu said for the first time his music company is holding an audio release function in public. He assured that his company will give a platinum disc within 15 days of the film’s audio CD release.

Sa Ra Govindu, KFCC president said film functions remind us of Dr Rajkumar. He said HDK keeps remembering Dr Raj in such functions.

The audio CD was released with Nikhil sitting amidst the crowd and HDK joining the crowd with Anitha.

 HDK thanked all the technicians for working well and the JD(S) workers for coming from all directions for the function. He urged the farmers not to end their lives and added that he is providing Rs 50,000 as financial assistance to 75 families.

H D Deve Gowda said he was happy about the audio release happening in Mandya. He said the film has generated good publicity and said he had seen the heroine act well in the movie. He appealed to the people to bless Nikhil and ensure his growth like Rajkumar. He said he would like to be a farmer and will continue to fight for their cause.

Nikhil said it gave him happiness to be amidst farmers for the audio release. He said the gathering at the audio release was like a fair. He said he hadn’t done nothing for the farmers but promised that he would henceforth fight for them. He said story of Jaguar is the hero. He said he had learnt a lot from his father who is like God to him. He said he would like to dedicate the film to his father.

Veteran film personalities S K Bhagawan, C V Shivashankar, Shantamma, Bengaluru Nagesh, Jayashri, Bank Janardhan, Aswathanarayana, Honnavalli Krishna, Dingri Nagaraj and Lakshmi Devi were felicitated on the occasion.

Eunuchs did an arati. Choreographer A Harsha was involved in stage decoration.  

ormer chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has started shoot of his latest production Jaguar, which is a Kannada-Telugu bilingual that will see the launch of his son Nikhil Kumar as a hero. The film has begun shoot in Infosys campus in Mysuru and this is the first time the campus has opened its gates for a film unit to shoot inside. The campus will be used as a medical college campus in the movie.

Kumaraswamy told reporters in Mysuru on Friday night that Infosys had for the first time given permission to a film unit to shoot inside their campus and he thanked its chairman Narayana Murthy for allowing his film’s unit to shoot inside the company’s campus. He said the film will be shot for 21 days in the company’s Mysuru campus.

The former chief minister who arrived late due to some pressing political engagements said he was a film producer in the beginning who turned to politics. But, now he said he had taken some time off to launch his son and to produce the film.

He said the film unit had not been able to get permission to shoot in China. He said a set will be erected at his Bidadi farmhouse to shoot the China portion. The set will resemble the Chinese location, he said. He said he hopes to release the film by October or November.

Kumaraswamy said due to technical reasons they could not put the teaser together which was expected to be launched on the occasion of Nikhil’s birthday on Friday.

Nikhil said he hoped to get a good break from his debut movie and added that he was confident that audiences would like him. He said director Mahadev, music director Thaman and lyricists have done a good job.

Music composer Thaman said he has been given a lot of freedom by the director and producer. He said there will be five songs in the movie.

The film’s heroine Deepti Sati thanked the team for giving her an opportunity to work in her first Kannada movie.

Vinayak Joshi and Siddi Prashant also spoke.

Later, Nikhil cut a cake to celebrate his 25th birthday. He was joined in by his mother Anitha Kumaraswamy and fiancée Swathi Mohan.

ikhil Kumar, son of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and grandson of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda formally made a bow into films on Wednesday evening. It was a befitting occasion as H D Kumaraswamy also celebrated his 57th birthday on the same day. The bilingual film Jaguar (Kannada and Telugu) was launched at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium by Deve Gowda who sounded the clapboard and Nikhil’s grandmother Chennamma Deve Gowda switched on the camera in front of thousands of fans and party workers who had come to witness the event.

Deve Gowda and his wife were right on time up to last minute for the film’s pooja and to bless their grandson get a launch into movies. A teaser trailer of Nikhil’s workout was shown to the audiences prior to the launch of the movie. Nikhil’s video featured his workout with Hollywood stunt director Cyril Rafael, dance director and gym trainer as if to declare that he is ready for the new role.

Nikhil personally greeted the guests. He said it was known a year ago that he was stepping into movies and now it has taken him a year to come before the audiences after getting trained. He said he had trained in dance, fight and other disciplines that are required but added that it is important to do justice to the role and the movie that he is doing.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy feted artistes Ambarish, B Saroja Devi, Srinath, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Jayanthi and V Ravichandran.

Ambarish who was felicitated said he had told Anitha to make her son a hero and added that it is now the turn of youngsters to come into the industry as he had become a senior citizen.

B Saroja Devi said it was necessary for any actor to get Navarasas right. She said Nikhil is blessed with a good physique, good voice, dance but added that an artiste should get his expressions right and make people cry and laugh. She also urged Nikhil to watch Rajkumar and keep the thespian as a role model.

Srinath said Nikhil had all the qualities that would make him a star. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Jayanthi blessed the new actor and wished him lots of good luck.

V Ravichandran said it was the best happy birthday for a father to give his son a launch into the cinema industry. He said getting into the industry is like facing a war. He urged Nikhil to pounce on this industry with Jaguar and bounce with flying colours.

Shivarajkumar said this launch function reminded him of his entry into the industry. He said Kumaraswamy was like family to him and added that Nikhil has all the qualities to become a hero. “Let Jaguar and Nikhil Kumar rock”, he said.

Addressing the huge gathering, Deve Gowda said his grandson comes from a political family into movies. He said he was happy with his grandson’s trailer. He said Nikhil’s entry into movies will be new chapter in his family. He said he would bless his grandson wholeheartedly to become successful.

Writer Vijayendra Prasad, director Mahadev, music director Thaman and cameraman Manoj Paramahamsa besides film personalities from Kannada cinema industry were also present. Nikhil’s fiancée Swathi Mohan and her parents Poornima and K C N Mohan were also present at the launch function.

Later, H D Kumaraswamy told reporters that the heroine for the movie had not been selected as yet. He said the film will be shot in Mysuru, Hyderabad and China. The rest of the casting credits are being finalized, he said.
