DARSHAN UPSET OVER POOR TURNOUT AT SUCCESS MEET
He said producers often complain that the artistes do not turn up for their film's promotional activities but producers actually do not invite the artistes in an appropriate manner. “Their managers call us and inform us about the meet,” he said, adding that “it is inevitable for me to promote my films myself.”
Darshan said the success meet of Jaggu Dada was scheduled about a week ago. He said the film’s audio launch function was jam packed but today it is empty.
Producer, director and editor Raghavendra Hegde reacted to Darshan saying that he was unwell a week ago and hence the success meet could not be organized earlier.
Referring to the success of Jaggu Dada, Darshan said it has been proven that if good films are made audiences will ensure that it runs successfully. He said of the 45 films that he has acted in his career so far he had done very few comical roles. He said Jaggu Dada was one such film that did not have build up or too many dialogues. He said his next film Chakravarthi will be different and that he plans to promote it differently.
Earlier, producer-director Hegde said the film Jaggu Dada got released in 303 theatres and it is now running in 202 theatres. He said collections in Mumbai and Pune were good for the movie.
Choreographer Kalai said he was happy with the success of the movie and thanked the producer-director for giving him an opportunity to work.
Music director V Harikrishna also spoke about the movie’s success.

JAGGU DADA GETS U/A CERTIFICATE
Decks are now cleared for the release of Darshan’s film Jaggu Dada. The film has got a U/A certificate from the censors and the film is all set to release on June 10 in about 350 theatres all over Karnataka. The Animal Welfare Board is also set to hand over the letter of clearance that allows the screening of the film. The film had to take a clearance from the board as pigeons were used in the film. Waseem, executive producer of the film said the letter from the board is a mere formality and is likely to be handed over on Wednesday to the producer.
JAGGU DADA RELEASING ON JUNE 10
Darshan is acting in a comic film after the release of Datta that happened a few years back. However, Darshan feels Jaggu Dada is a comical entertainer after Bulbul that also has a mass appeal. Darshan sports a rugged look as the title suggests but his character is made to look like a comedy piece who tries his best to get married. The efforts that he puts in to impress a girl is funny, according to the actor himself.
Vishal Hegde plays a jovial character while Srujan Lokesh has a parallel character in the movie. V Harikrishna has scored the music. Younus Aizal has written the screenplay for the movie. H C Venugopal is the cameraman.
DARSHAN’S JAGGU DADA AUDIO RELEASED
Music director Harikrishna said the film has entered the re-recording mode. He said the film will see Darshan in a different avatar. He said he had worked with Darshan in 19 films and was happy with the response to film’s music in Juke Box and FM radio stations which was good promotion for the film.
Srujan Lokesh said he plays a parallel character in the movie. He said director was open to improvisation on the sets. He said he liked Darshan in his role in the film.
Director Raghavendra Hegde said Darshan had agreed to do the film in their first meeting itself and added that he doled out dates readily. He said Darshan liked the story of Jaggu Dada after listening to another story. He said the film was shot for 95 days and in locations of Mumbai and Goa apart from Italy. Hegde said Darshan was punctual for the shoot unlike what was told about him.
Vishal Hegde said he plays a jovial character in the movie that comes in the Mumbai portion of the film. Amit Tiwari thanked the team for supporting him. Deepika Kamaiah said she has played a comical character in the film.
Choreographer Ganesh said he was being encouraged by Darshan and added that Darshan had added good expression to his dance steps.
Deeksha Seth said Darshan is a fabulous actor. She said she was initially scared to act before him as he was a well known actor but his kindness and humility made it easy and enjoyable for her to work.
Darshan said he had made efforts to talk less in the film and make people laugh. He said though he has a rugged look in the movie his character is made to look like a comedy piece who tries his best to get married. The efforts that he puts in to get married is something worth watching, he said. He said the film has all the elements that his films have including action scenes. Darshan said people will come out of the movie laughing. He praised director Hegde for doing online editing that helped in bringing down the production costs of having a reshoot if need be.
Four songs of the movie were shown. S A Govindaraj, Tara, Aditya and P N Satya did the honours of launching the songs for exhibition.
"JAGGU DADA" IN SEARCH OF A BRIDE!
Addressing the media, ‘After ‘Bulbul’, ‘Jaggu dada’ is another comic as well as mass appealing movie of mine. When director Raghavendra Hegde met me, I have shown my movies from ‘Majestic’ to ‘Sarathi’ to him. By that he got realized about my image and started script work on ‘Jaggu dada’ Darshan said.
Meantime he also disclosed that an anonymous person took 7 lakh rupees from the director Raghavendra Hegde to fix his appointment. He assured the media that, his name will be disclosed after the success of the movie.
Editor turned director Raghavendra Hegde said, ‘I have worked as a co-director to ‘Sketch’ movie earlier. Then I went to Mumbai and worked for many Bollywood movies as editor. ‘Jaggu dada’ is my debutant directorial movie to Sandalwood. With this movie I’m introducing a Mumbai based music director Pareshkumar who has helped me a lot when I was in struggle’ he said.
‘Along with V.Harikrishna, Pareshkumar is going to compose two songs for the movie. Rest of four songs would be composed by V.Harikrishna. With the permission of V.Harikrishna himself, I’m introducing Pareshkumar to Sandalwood’ he clarified.
V.Harikrishna, music director of the movie certified that, ‘Jaggu dada’ is a loveable movie of Darshan after ‘Bulbul.
Dialogue director Chintan too justified V.Harikrishna words and said, ‘Jaggu dada’ is a family entertainer.
Younus aizal, the fame of ‘Chennai Express’ is penning screenplay to the movie. He thanked director Raghavendra Hegde for giving him an opportunity to work in Sandalwood.
