GURBI FILM PREMIERED
T
he film Gurbi (sparrow in Tulu) was premiered on Sunday afternoon in Bengaluru. The film runs for 110 minutes and is written, produced and directed by Krishnappa Uppur.

The film is based on a real life incident that happened in 1960 and chronicles the struggle of tribals.

Sanjana said Uppur has given a good film. She said she would show Mahanadi a film made by Uppur to her children when she grows old and tell them that it was her best film.

Jayaprakash Hegde, senior journalist Gangadhar Kushtagi, retired police officer Subhash Gudimani and Mohan Alva of Alva College were present at the screening and spoke briefly about the film.

The film stars Ashwitha in the lead role of Gurbi. Ashwitha was thankful about getting the opportunity to act in the film. The film stars Mandya Ramesh, Keertiraj and theatre artiste Jeevanram Sullia has played a major role as the heroine’s father.
