alashri and Saiprakash are back together after 18 years with ‘Ganga’, a film rich on sentiment and a bit of action. The movie is releasing on the festive occasion of Ayudha Pooja on October 22 in about 200 theatres across Karnataka. The movie is produced by Ramu under his own banner Ramu Films. Ganga is Ramu’s 35th film as a producer while Malashri and Saiprakash have worked together in about 18 movies.

Producer Ramu told journalists that the team worked on the film Ganga for about two to three years and the filming had started about a year back. He said he was happy to be making a film with Saiprakash and expressed confidence that the movie will be successful.

Director Saiprakash said he is directing in Ramu’s banner for the third time, the first two being Hello Sister and Tavarina Siri. He said he had worked with Malashri in story-oriented films in the past and that it was a reunion of sorts to be working with her after 18 years. He said it reminded him of those days when women audiences wanted to watch their combination films.

Saiprakash said Ganga is a family oriented subject. He said the movie has a good name and it is a good combination. The film will be a welcome change for even Malashri’s fans, he said adding that it will provide for a good meal to the audiences on the festive occasion of Navarathri.

Actor Srinivasa Murthy said Ganga is a family entertainer and Malashri is a hero who is a woman. He said Ganga is definitely a film that is different from the kind of movies that director Saiprakash has been making.

Mukhyamantri Chandru said working in Ganga was like being in a family atmosphere which has vanished these days in the industry. He appreciated Saiprakash who is on the verge of directing his 100th film.

Hema Chaudhary said she often got to don different get-ups in Ramu’s films. She said she was made to wear a jeans pant in the movie and that made her feel young even though she has completed four decades in Kannada cinema. She regretted that the media was not giving importance to local artistes and especially her appearances while Mumbai heroines are spoken about widely in media circles.

Kote Prabhakar who is playing a comic villain in the film also spoke.

Malashri said she was playing the role of an auto driver for the first time. She said she had been postponing taking up this movie as it involved a heavy performance. He praised Saiprakash for handling such subjects with ease. She also said that she had worn a saree in the movie after many women had wanted to see her in the costume.

Malashri said Ganga is a sentimental movie and the subject is the hero. Malashri who is completing 25 years in Kannada cinema this year said Ganga is one of her favourite subjects in her career.

Arjun Janya has scored the music and Anil Kumar has written the dialogues. The film also stars debutant Sandeep who is sharing the frame with Malashri, Bullet Prakash, Sadhu Kokila, Pavithra Lokesh, Sharath Lohitaswa and Satyaprakash among others.

n the production of Ramu Enterprises – 39th film is for the soft and hard capabilities of Malashri proud ‘Muththinanta Hendathi’ of producer Ramu. 

Producer Ramu is giving approval for the demand of the people – the audiences want to see Malashri in family films. With one line idea that cropped up in my mind the story and screenplay was improved says producer Ramu. 

Sai Prakash has given many big hits in the combination of Malashri in the past. He is mixing the screen image of Rajanikanth and Vishnuvardhana in to the role of Malashri. It was in 1995 Om Saiprakash directed his last movie for Malashri that is ‘Hello Sister’. This is a film for family – Malashri is seen as a sacrificing woman in the first half says Saiprakash. The muhurut for the film went on the floor at Rama Mandira in Rajaninagar. The main artist were decked in marriage scene for the film. 

Malashri has taken back Saree and tradition looks for this film. It has full scope for performance. It is with mixture of Policena Hendathi and Gruhapravesha of director Saiprakash she says. It is a natural character adds Malashri. 

Ravi Chetan is playing husband to Malashri and he feels extremely happy to be part of Ramu banner film. It is Malashri the real hero of the film and I play gentleman role he adds. 

Pavitra Lokesh and Suchindra Prasad are couple for the film with Hema Chaudhary in an important role. Bank Janardhan, Sadhu Kokila, Chikkanna, Rangayana Raghu are also in the cast. Anil Kumar has penned dialogues. It is 90 days schedule for cameraman Rajesh Kata.
