CAMERAMAN DARSHAN TURNS PRODUCER WITH ‘ESCAPE'

pcoming cinematographer Darshan Kanaka has turned producer with the Kannada film ‘Escape’, a suspense thriller that will mount the sets on February 6. The film is directed by another Darshan who has worked in Ranga Shankara. The film stars newbies Deepam Kohli and Pragya. Sai Kiran will be scoring the music.

Director Darshan told reporters that the subject is a thriller and it involves a thing that escapes that becomes the whole focus of the story. He said he wanted to cast people who do not know Kannada as the subject required it. He said the film is inspired by the Korean film Red Target. He said he auditioned the heroine for the role and found Pragya, a model whom he met two years ago suitable for the role.

He said the team has drawn up a 33-day schedule which will include shoots in Bangkok, China, Manali, Srinagar, Mysuru and Kushalnagar. Sai Kiran said the film will have three songs.

Deepam Kohli said he had completed a one-year acting course in New York and returned to take up this offer. He said he plays an uneducated good boy who comes from a middle-class family but turns bad. Pragya, a model from Jharkhand said she plays a bubbly girl in the movie.

Manju is the choreographer. Darshan who is producing the film has worked as the cameraman in Mandya to Mumbai, Eradu Kanasu, Simplaag Innondu Love Story and Kolara among others.
