MUSICAL PROGRAMME IN HONOUR OF DR BALAMURALI, PUTTANNA
A
musical programme Geetha Namana titled ‘Ee Pariya Sobagu Innyavva Devaralli Kaane’ was held in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. The programme was held in commemoration of Dr M Balamuralikrishna’s birth anniversary and Puttanna Kanagal’s death anniversary.

Singer B K Sumithra, actor Ramakrishna and retired police officer B K Shivaram were felicitated on the occasion.

B K Sumitra said she was lucky to have worked with Dr Balamuralikrishna and Puttanna Kanagal.

 B K Shivaram said the Chitradurga fort gained historical importance after Puttanna Kanagal shot Nagarahaavu there. He said people started recognizing the importance of the fort after the movie got released. Gururaj of Sound of Music had organized many Rajkumar musical nite programmes. He said President Kalam got off from the dais to greet Dr Balamuralikrishna who was seated among the audiences. He said music, woman and lyrics cannot be taken lightly.

Ramakrishna said the programme can be called Bhagawan Namana. He said he had the rare fortune of acting with Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan who were pillars of Kannada film industry.

Narayanaswamy compered the programme and Jyothi Raviprakash directed the musical programme.
