B SURESHA’S DEVARA NADALLI TO RELEASE IN MULTIPLEXES ON FEB 5 Devara Nadalli is being distributed by Toogudeepa Distributors.Suresha said efforts are on to release the movie worldwide based on the availability of theatres which is being handled by Toogudeepa banner. The film is based on a newspaper report published in 1998. Suresha who has also written and directed the film said he had built a story based on the newspaper report. He said the film runs on multiple parallel tracks. One track is the incident that is the central point of the film and the people around it. The second track deals with people gossiping about the incident which could create prejudices. The third track is about the perpetrators of the incident. Director Suresha said Devara Nadalli is a socio-political thriller shot along the entire stretch of coastal Karnataka starting from Padubidre near Udupi up to Honnavara. Producer Shylaja Nag said the movie will see a theatrical release that will be different from the usual commercial format. Mandya Ramesh said it was great to work in a film production that was so well planned and executed that the entire shoot was wrapped up in one schedule. Cinematographer Advaita Gurumurthy said the pre-production process gave him a lot of happiness as the team did a lot of homework when it came to location hunting and even placing of the camera. Disha Ramesh, daughter of Mandya Ramesh who is debuting with this movie said she was so happy that the day had arrived when the movie was all set for a release. She said the movie making was a good forum for discussion and there were positive vibes in the team at the production stage. She said she could see a lot of sensitivities. Manu Hegde, son of television actor and theatre person Manjunath Hegde said he got the role after finishing the course in Neenasam. He said doing the film was like doing another course. The film stars Prakash Rai, Sihikahi Chandru, Kasaragod Chinna and Achyuth Kumar in prominent roles. The film has two other newbies making their debut along with Disha Ramesh and Manu Hegde in Manoj Kodagu and Pranav – all drawn from theatre backgrounds. The film also stars Manjubhashini, Kiran Kumar, Mandya Ramesh, Renukappa, Gowtham and Gurumurthy. Hamsalekha has scored the music in the film that has four songs. Aravind Kuplikar has penned the screenplay. Jo Ni Harsha is the editor. The running time of the film is 105 minutes. Media House Studio has produced the film. |

MADHU AMBAT’S PROTÉGÉ ADVAITA READY TO ROCK BEHIND CAMERA Armed with a post-graduate diploma in cinematography from L V Prasad Film Academy, Chennai, Advaita won the national award for his camera work in Tamil diploma film Indyam. Advaita has gone on to work in about 15 to 20 documentaries, eight short films including Neenasam Satish’s short film Chaukabara that will be screened in Cinepolis next week and three music videos. Currently, Advaita is working in Snake Naga which is Pratibha Nandakumar’s debut directorial movie and Pawan Kumar’s (of Lucia fame) ‘U Turn’. The latter film has finished its shoot while Snake Naga is yet to be completed. |
