Kannada film on deforestation and theft of precious sandalwood from forests titled Churikatte mounted the sets in Bengaluru at a temple. The film is directed by Raghu Shivamogga, who won the state award for the best short film Chauka Bara. The film is produced by Nayaz and it stars Manjunath Hegde, Achyuth Kumar, Praveen and Prerana among others.  

Director Raghu told journalists that 70 percent of the shoot will happen in forests and it deals with timbre mafia and crime related to theft of forest wealth including poaching of sandalwood trees. The film will have a 45-day shoot schedule in Hosanagara, Shivamogga, Malnad regions and Savanadurga. The climax portion will be shot in Savanadurga, he said. The director said the film will have five fight sequences.  

Manjunath Hegde plays a forest officer while Achyuth Kumar plays a police officer. Praveen plays a college student who aspires to become a cop. Prerana who has been acting in television serials is debuting on the big screen and she plays a college student in the movie.  

Vasuki Vybhav will be composing the music for the film which will have five songs out of which he has himself penned the lyrics for one song. Advaita Gurumurthy is the cameraman and Prakash Karanji is the editor. The film will begin its regular shoot from next week.
