MANJULA GURU COMPOSES BHAJANS FOR PROTÉGÉ CHITRA

layback singer Manjula Gururaj has brought out a Hindi bhajan CD ‘Bhajanmala’ that has her protégé  Chitra Jithendra singing eight devotional songs.

Manjula Gururaj told reporters that Bhajanmala was her 14th private music album and said Chitra Jithendra has been learning music from her Sadhana Music School for the last five years. She said she had been running classes for kids, working professionals and housewives separately. Manjula said her disciple Chitra was lucky to get a good launch for her devotional album on the festive occasion of Saraswathi Pooja.

Manjula Gururaj said it was heartening to see many housewives come to her weekly class to learn music. She praised Chitra’s husband for encouraging his wife in launching the album and for spending a lot of money on it. Manjula said the album has bhajans written by Kabir Das, Tulsi Das, Meera and Brahmanand.

Chitra Jithendra said it was a dream come true for her to have a audio release. She thanked her mentor Manjula and husband Jithendra for supporting her in this endeavour.

Bapu, a flutist who is composing music for Nagabharana’s film Allama praised Manjula’s music school for serving the music community and aspiring singers.

Doddarange Gowda praised Chitra’s voice and said the album was truly devotional.
