‘Bullet Rani,’ a female-oriented action film made in Kannada and Telugu has got a U/A certificate from the censors and is bracing up for a release in November. The film is produced by M S Yousuf and directed by Sajid Qureshi. The film stars Nisha Kothari in the title role.

Director Sajid Qureshi told journalists that his first Kannada film’s output is good adding that he would like to do more Kannada films. He said Bullet Rani is a story of corruption and politics that prevails in India today. He said the film is an out-and-out action film with punchy dialogues and five songs including a background song.

Qureshi said the film was simultaneously shot in Kannada and Telugu that required the heroine Nisha Kothari to change her costumes to suit the local tastes and nativity. He said she had to don different police colours for Kannada and Telugu portion during the shoot. He praised Nisha Kothari for her performance, Rajesh Upadhyay and Uday for their performances.

The film has been shot in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hyderabad.

Cinematographer Selvam said the movie Bullet Rani got over like a bullet. He said the film is interesting with Nisha Kothari making a lot of effort to change her costumes for the cop scenes. He said Nisha Kothari is no less than a hero in the movie.

Uday said he was shown a English film bit to do his role that required him to walk on one foot which was quite challenging despite his role being a short one. He said he had to fight against the heroine.

Nisha Kothari said she plays a non-glamourous role for the first time although she said a cop could also play a glamourous role. She said she plays the title role who is fearless, strong and a beautiful character that is something different from the usual stuff. She said the film is a complete mass oriented entertainer  with action and comedy.

Nisha Kothari said she found it tough to do action scenes but said she was able to pull it off with support from the team. She said she tried to do all the action scenes but couldn’t avoid taking the services of a dupe for some scenes. Nisha said she had become stronger physically and from inside adding that she was ready to take up more action roles in her forthcoming movies.

Nisha Kothari said every movie doesn’t require romance and Bullet Rani is all about action. She said she followed her director’s instructions and loved to do kicks as it found it easy now.

Producer M S Yousuf said Nisha Kothari justified her presence, role and the script. He said the film Bullet Rani made at a budget of Rs 6-7 crore was completed in record time. Yousuf, a distributor of Telugu films in Hyderabad, has produced a film for the first time. He said Chandrika in Kannada for which he worked as an executive producer was successful at the box-office despite facing theatre problems.

The film which is produced by M S Yousuf and directed by Sajid Qureshi has Priyanka Kothari in the lead title role. The film has Avinash and Ashish Vidyarthi among others in the cast. Priyanka Kothari plays a tough cop in the movie and the film carries a caption ‘no judgement only punishment’. 

The song Nillalide which has been penned by Kaviraj is sung by Hemachandra while the title song Aayi Bullet Rani (also penned by Kaviraj) has been sung by Simha Sharavana and Bhargavi.

The team of Bullet Rani has also released the publicity posters of the movie which has Priyanka Kothari in various styles donning the police colours.
