amsalekha released the audio of children’s film Bicycle Boys at a function in Bengaluru. The film has Palani Senapathy’s music and is directed by Naveen. The film is produced by Venkatesh Acharya and co-produced by S Pati. The film’s trailer was also launched by cinematographer Ashok Kashyap.

Hamsalekha said Kannada cinema is doing well with 85 music composers today. He said music composers would get recognized if they score music for films with good concept and story. Palani Senapathy who became emotional said he considered Hamsalekha as his mentor who not only taught him music but also lessons in life.

Ashok Kashyap said the difference between Hollywood films and Kannada films had come down to just a few days in terms of technology and so the gap had narrowed technically from what it was two decades ago. He said director Naveen had started as his assistant in Nanda Gokula and added that it was a challenge for any film-maker to make films for children. He said Palani is not only an engineer but also a composer.

Srimurali who has sung a song for the movie said he had decided to sing for the movie after listening to the lyrics. He thanked the music director, producer and director for giving him an opportunity to sing. He also sang a song before leaving.

V Manohar said state awards should be given for children who sing. Sunil Kumar Singh said his protégé Naveen had learnt from him and that he (Sunil) had not taught him. He said Hamsalekha was his inspiration.

Arun Sagar said parents were not giving attention to children these days as much as his parents did for him. Doddanna and Latha Hamsalekha also spoke.
