roducer Shamanth K, who made two Kannada films – Preethi Kithabhu and Melody – is launching his brother Shashank K as hero with the film Adi Purana, a romantic comedy and family entertainer.

Mohan Kamakshi, who worked as an editor for 12 years in Kannada film industry, is the director for Adi Purana. “Adi Purana is a romantic comedy and the audience will be able to relate to it even though the title is centuries old. The script demanded new faces. That’s why we have roped in some new talent. We also have senior actors in supporting roles. I happened to see Shashank at a studio while editing a Kannada film. I asked him whether he is interested in acting. Later, I discussed about it with his brother Shashank. He has acted well in this film,’’ said Mohan Kamakshi.

The director has planned to complete the shooting of this film in 35 days in and around Bengaluru and Mysuru. “We have divided its shooting into three schedules. The last schedule will be exclusively for picturisation of songs in August,’’ he said.
According to him, the script work of Adi Purana commenced in October 2016 and completed in April 2017.
“I am studying 3rd year mechanical engineering at Dr Ambedkar Engineering College. I have put up seven kgs for this film. I had basic training in film acting under the guidance of Bukkapatnam Vasu,’’ said Shashank.
The team has planned a 35-day shooting schedule around Bengalur, Mysuru and KRS Dam.

Ahalya Suresh and Moksha Kushal are the heroines while Rangayana Raghu, Nagendra Shah, Karisubbu, Vatsala Mohan, Shakthi Vel, Sameer, Aditya Bharadwaj, Gem Shivu and Radha are in the star cast. Vikaram Vasisht, Chandana Vasisht and Siddarth Kamath have scored music for this film.
