ASTITVA MOVIE REVIEW
T
he film is about getting an identity and also not making his real identity known. The hero is a psychopath killer due to a bad childhood. The story starts with the hero Ram seeing his mother in bed with his uncle. The mother does plead with him not to tell her husband (his father). But he does so and the father commits suicide. The mother continues her relationship and thus ends up getting murdered by her son. The son lands up in a remand home who comes out after a few years only to be adviced to concentrate on his studies by the warden. The hero starts a new life as his uncle’s wife does not allow him in.

The bus in which the hero is travelling meets with an accident and his co-passenger Rahim dies. Ram picks up his certificates and joins a college by changing his identity. As things do not go well with him in college and his true identity becomes known to his friend through the warden he goes on a killing spree. The police fail to crack the murder cases and thus Ram retains his identity or rather creates his own identity.

Director Umesh has chosen to remake Tamil film Naan for his second outing after Krishnan Marriage Story. He wins over the audiences with his tight screenplay and racy pace.

Newcomer Yuvaraj has done well for a newcomer. Prajwal Poovaiah shows promise but has a long way to go to improve herself and hone her skills well. Duniya Rashmi and Sonu Gowda appear in brief roles. Madhusudan is impressive as the college friend of Yuvaraj. The film is worth a watch for the tight screenplay and some curious moments.

HERO ALMOST HITS VILLAIN WITH A REAL BEER BOTTLE IN ‘ASTITVA’ SHOOT
A
n effective film story influences our real lives if we relate to them deeply by comparing it with ourselves. Here is an incident in a movie that creates breathtaking moment to the viewers. This movie still says it all. In this still from the film ‘Asthitva’, actor Yuvaraj is seen with a beer bottle fighting with a villain.

Do you think that bear bottle is a fake one? Of course, it should have been. But in reality, it was not! Since, the hero is new to the Kannada film industry he wasn’t able to differentiate between a real and a fake one. Even the helper or the set boy from the art department of the film who provided him the bottle was a newcomer. He too was unaware about the type of bottle that would be used while fighting in front of the camera in a film set.

It’s really a matter of life if there is a lack of knowledge on the equipment used while fighting. Everyone can guess what might happen if a person had hit someone’s head with a beer bottle. You just can’t imagine right?

There might been a serious injury if not for the hero’s realization when he was about to bash up the guy in front of him in the sequence. It would have put one another’s lives in risk. Luckily, the hero realized a few seconds before the shot was canned and when he was about to knock down his opponent. One can see the cuts reflecting the level of power and force he had applied in the scene. As soon as he realized the bottle that he was holding in his hand was real he reduced his force so that bottle doesn’t break and cause injury. Finally, everything was safe by God’s grace, the team felt.
