he team of Kannada film Akira celebrated 100 days of its run. The film is produced by Chetan and directed by Naveen Reddy. The film stars Anish, Krishi and Aditi Rao in lead roles.

Producer Chetan told journalists that thanks to audiences response and media support the film completed 100 days of run. He said it was the director’s first film and so the team has been happy with the success of the film. He said he will announce a new film next month with almost the same team.

Anish said he had been waiting for this day. He said although he had done four or five films people didn’t recognize him. But, now people recognized him and wish him which has added responsibility on his shoulders. He said the film had done 100 days in B&C centres. He also said Yash had told him that the film would do well.

Krishi said all technicians who had worked in the movie had become busy because of the success of the film. She said the film had run for 100 days in 20 theatres in B&C centres.

Speaking on the occasion, Yash said Anish is a star in the making and that was evident from the huge crowd that was gathered for the audio release function. He said few artistes make it big although all of them get opportunities. Yash said to succeed in the industry what is required is sincerity, loyalty, simplicity, dedication, urge to succeed and zeal to perform.

He said his mother calls him ‘kencha’ before uttering a few dialogues from his latest hits Ramachari and Masterpiece.

The music launch of Akira was a star-studded evening with the likes of Vijay Raghavendra, Meghana Gaonkar, Kishore, Anup Bhandary, Nirup Bhandary attending the programme. Priyanka of Ganapa, directors Santhu, Chetan Kumar and Suni were also present.

Anish said the time had come for Kannada films to rule and added that Kannada film posters will dote the city henceforth.

Director Naveen Reddy said he was happy with the film that is ready for release.

Meghana Gaonkar said she was surprised to see such a huge crowd for a Kannada film function.

Krishi and Aditi Rao also spoke but their voice was lost in the din.

Harshika Poonacha, Shweta Pandit and Sindhu Lokanath danced to numbers on stage. Audiences were clippings of songs from Akira along with the trailer.

he theatrical trailer of Akira was launched on Tuesday evening at PVR Cinemas in Orion Mall, Rajajinagar in Bengaluru. The film is produced by Chetan and Somashekar Reddy while Naveen Reddy has directed it. The film stars Anish, Aditi Rao and Krishi in lead roles. 

Anish said he has been working hard without much success for the last four years. He said he is hoping and is confident that the film will become a hit. 

Aditi Rao said her role in the movie was good and her presence is more in the climax scenes. Krishi said Akira is her first movie. She said she is eager to see herself and the movie on the silver screen.

 Director Naveen Reddy said the shoot has been completed. He appealed to the audiences to bless the team with a success. Producer Chetan and Somashekar Reddy also said people should see the movie and bless the team. 

Editor Srikanth also spoke. 

Rakshit Shetty, Rishabh Shetty, Meghana Gaonkar, directors Chetan Kumar, Santhu, Prabhu Srinivas and Shankar, choreographer Ramu, Vijay Raghavendra, Sindhu Lokanath and Shyam of Anand Audio were among those present to watch the trailer and wish the team good luck.

uneeth Rajkumar has sung a romantic duet for the film Akira last week. The shooting for the song that the actor has sung has been shot in Norway. Incidentally, the song has been picturised on Anish and Aditi Rao but there is no female singer. Puneeth’s song Kannasanne Indalene is a solo number that has been composed by Ajneesh Lokanath and has lyrics by Dhananjay.

The song captures Norway’s picturesque countryside that has been unexplored by Kannada film-makers and many Indian film-makers as well. The makers say that the place Norway was chosen to match up to Ajneesh’s beautiful romantic composition.

Director Naveen Reddy said a 20-member team has returned from Norway after shooting two songs and a part of the talkie portion. While one song is a romantic duet between Anish and Aditi Rao, the other song is a hero introduction number.

The director said Norway is blessed with beautiful locales that there was no need to search for locations. He said Norway is so beautiful that they could find good blocks to place their camera everywhere.

Anish said they shot a dream love song in Norway following the blossoming of love between the hero and heroine. He said the sequence is heavenly to watch and that 10 local dancers were used for his introduction song. Anish said he found it difficult to flex his muscles in the cold weather. He said the team had to make do with little sleep and a lot of practice.

Aditi Rao said she had taken a decision not to sign any movie until Akira is completed and praised Arundhati’s costumes.

Producer Chetan said the film Akira has undergone more than 70 days of shoot that includes a portion of reshoot. He said Rs 1 crore had been spent on the Norway shoot. Shekar has choreographed the songs. Chetan said the audio release of the movie will take place by the end of the month.

The first song will be picturised on Atlantic Road near the Norwegian capital and at Malda. Anish and Adithi Rao are participating in the song. The second song will be picturised near Oslo, the capital of Norway where Anish will be dancing to his introduction song. The team has also earmarked a day for picturising talkie portion of the film. The team will finish an eight-day schedule in Norway before returning to India.Akira will be the first Kannada film to be shot in Norway.

kira, a new Kannada film starring Anish launched its first look teaser on Monday to journalists a day after it was launched formally at a mall.

Director Naveen Reddy said whoever had seen the teaser had appreciated it and praised editor Srikanth for it.

Editor Srikanth said Anish’s performance, director’s work and producer’s penchant for quality had all come together. He said there’s a lot of richness in production values of the movie.

Producer Chetan said S2 Entertainment is founded by his uncle Somashekar Reddy and is managed by him. He said the team intends to release song teaser trailers in all the prominent malls of the state and added that the teaser launched in a mall was already being screened at Inox multiplexes.

Chetan said two songs for the movie will be shot in Norway where no Kannada movie has been shot before. He said a team of 18-20 people will leave for Norway on September 18 to shoot for an eight-day schedule that includes canning a few scenes as well. He said locations near Norway capital Oslo and the countryside had been identified for the shoot.

Anish said Jaggesh released the first look teaser at a mall on Sunday and appreciated the quality of production. He said Jaggesh appreciated the work done by newcomers in terms of bringing in quality. Anish said Amulya was also appreciative about the quality of the teaser.

Anish said the dubbing for the movie is almost complete and Shekar will be choreographing the songs in Norway. The film is readying for a release around Deepavali this November, he said. Anish also said the movie’s audio will be released during October.

Aditi said with the release of the first look teaser the team had taken the first step towards promotion of the movie. Krishi was also present and said the teaser was appreciated for its technical quality.

kira, a new Kannada film starring Anish has completed its talkie portion of shoot and will now begin dubbing for its scenes from Thursday. Shoot for four songs have been completed and two more songs are yet to be shot which will be done in Norway during September.

Director Naveen Reddy who has worked under Prabhu Srinivas told journalists on Wednesday that Akira is the hero’s name which is also his pet name who is in love and one is possessive. He said the film has completed its shoot in Bengaluru and Goa. A song was shot in Annapoorna Studios of Hyderabad after spending about Rs 45 lakh on the set property.

Anish who is playing the lead sounded excited about about his role in the film. He said his role is stylish who loves two girls innocently but circumstances lead to misunderstanding between them. He said the way the film had panned out there was hardly a doubt that it is helmed by a debutant director.

Anish also recalled the chemistry between the heroines and said it was fun to work with both Krishi and Aditi. He did not forget to mention costume designer Arundhati’s contribution towards bringing in some style to his look.

Music composer Ajneesh Lokanath said there are six songs with all types of songs thrown in to the film. He said he has tried to experiment with commercial elements and added he has introduced a new genre that is more western which he termed it as glitchhop and dubstep.

Aditi said she plays a social worker who is a matured girl in the film and who is also silent and caring much like herself in real life. She said the director gave her a lot of freedom to use her own makeup and styling.

Krishi Thapanda said she plays a bubbly girl who is a wannabe actress in a stylish role in her second film. She said she was not ready for the film but things fell in place after the story was narrated to her.

Costume designer Arundhati said she had an opportunity to go to Thailand to shop for the costumes for the movie. She said she had given a new look to Anish in the movie.

The film is produced by Chetan, Reddy and Srikanth. Vikram has composed the fights. Srikanth is the editor and Yogi is the cameraman.
