eality star Tsunami Kitty made a bow into films with ‘Adivasi’, a film based on the life of tribals, on Thursday in Bengaluru. Shivarajkumar switched on the camera and former minister V Somanna sounded the clap board. The film is being written and directed by Murthy besides partly producing the movie. Hemanth Kumar is scoring the music while Gollalli Shivaprasad and Revanna penning the lyrics and Nagesh is the cameraman.

Director Murthy said he does not make the usual commercial films and added that he intends to show how tribals are friendlier to the mother earth with their innocence. He said he was inspired to make this film after the recent incident in Madikeri erupted recently where 577 persons were evicted and houses demolished leading to protests.

The director said the title is apt and when he discussed this with Kitty he said he got a lot of inputs which helped him put things in place. He said the film will be shot in Madikeri, Shivamogga and green belts. He said an adivasi set costing Rs 2 crore will be put up in Shivamogga for the shoot and added that the film will have four action sequences and five songs. He said song picturisation will have a 20-day shooting schedule. The director said he is also making an appearance in the movie as a cop in a negative role.

Tsunami Kitty said he was aware of the problems of adivasis and that he has prepared himself to act in this movie. He said people and media have made him a star and that the martial art that he had learnt has come of help to him.

Anvitha is playing the female lead. She has acted in Gejje and has expressed her willingness to stay in forest area and even act as an adivasi. The film has another heroine who will be joining later this month who will be playing the role of daughter of a coffee estate owner. The shoot will begin on March 15
