2012 – KANNADA CINEMA INDUSTRY PROGRESSIVE YEAR

he 2012 of Kannada cinema industry saw some good progress and recorded nearly 30 percent success out of 108 (Kannada, Kodava, Tulu) films released.

The mega film of the year is ‘Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna’ the mega flop of the year was ‘Arakshaka’!

11 Kannada films are successful films, 13 are average hit films in the year 2012 is far better than 2011.

30 percent success is arrived from the list of films in the category of hits, average hits and those made the break even position. For the break even position of some of the films the TV satellite rights is a big boon again in this industry.

Among the most successful films of 2012 are – Sidlingu, Alemaari, Govindayanamaha, Anna Bond, Jaanu, Bhagirathi, Addhoori, Dhandupalya, Rambo, Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna, Kalpana and Drama.

The films in the average hit list are – Shakthi, Chingari, Bheema Thiradalli, Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi, Romeo, Pritiya Loka, 12 AM, Sagar, Snehitharu and Edhegaarike.

The expected films that flopped in the year 2012 are – God Father, Ko Ko Koli Kothi, Arakshaka, Nammanna Don, Lucky, Munjane, Narasimha, Shikari, Dev Son of Muddhe Gowda, Breaking News, Kiladi Kitty, Villain, Crazy Loka, Gowri Puthra, Shiva, Jai Hind, Charulatha, Kalaya Thasmai Namaha, Mr 420, Gokula Krishna, Super Shastry and Guru.

Among the new comers who could not sustain are – Cyber Yugadal Navayuva Madhura Prema Kavya, Lucky, Magadi, Prasad, Parie, Paper Dhoni, 18th Cross, Gokula Krishna and others. They raised hopes but crashed in the box office.
