3 RELEASES LINED UP FOR MARCH 6

hree Kannada films will release on March 6 of which two of them are remakes. Ondu Romantic Crime Kathe is a remake of Telugu hit Oka Romantic Crime Katha that was released in 2012. Goa is another film that is releasing this Friday which is also a remake of Tamil film Goa and the third film is titled Flop.Ondu Romantic Crime Kathe is directed by debutant Sam J Chaitanya, who has worked as an assistant director to Manirathnam and is an editor as well. He has also worked with Hindi director Rajkumar Santoshi as an assistant.

FILM DIRECTOR SIDDALINGAIAH SERIOUS

eteran film-maker Siddalingaiah has been hospitalized and has been reportedly under medical supervision for the last 20 days. He is suspected to be suffering from swine flu, according to news reports.Reports citing hospital sources have said that the senior director is still not out of danger but his condition is stable. Members of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce including its president Thomas D’Souza called on the director at the hospital where he is undergoing treatment to enquire about his well-being.

DIRECTOR SIDDALINGAIAH GETS HONORARY DOCTORATE

eteran film-maker Siddalingaiah has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by the Karnataka State Open University.Siddalingaiah is a writer and a film director. He debuted as a director with Mayor Muthanna and went on to direct blockbuster hits like Bangarada Manushya starring Rajkumar and Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu starring Vishnuvardhan. Siddalingaiah is the recipient of the prestigious Puttanna Kanagal Award instituted by the government of Karnataka.

RAMACHARI DIRECTOR SANTOSH GETS PUNEETH’S NOD

uneeth Rajkumar is all set to act in at least three films this year. His first film Doddmane Huduga will mount the sets this week and will have the Power Star acting with Rebel Star Ambarish for the first time in a big star cast. His second untitled film which is being directed by Tamil director Saravanan is likely to go on the floors in April. SIDDARAMAIAH GIFTS FILM CITY TO MYSURU, FILM AWARDS PRESENTED

hief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Saturday that the Film City will come up in Himmavu village in Mysuru on a 100-acre land fulfilling the Kannada film industry’s long pending demand for setting up the Film City.Speaking after presenting the state film awards on Saturday evening, Siddaramaiah said the deputy commissioner had identified the land for developing the Film City adding that efforts to develop it in Bengaluru had not yielded results.
